The worst thing

What is the worst dish you have cooked and were sorry to say you made it?
Mine was green bean casserole last year and for some reason it turned out terrible. I will never make it again.

Great question!!

I have had a few colossal failures in my time My DH will never eat tuna casserole or chicken and dumplings after my first attempts at those came out SO bad. I have since gotten better at those dishes.

The worst thing I have ever made, just ask my mom, is the stew I made one time ! We were out of potatoes so I used a can of sweet potatoes instead!

ha i got you all beat. When i first got married 36 years ago (coming tues), i was gonna make chip beef gravy. Now i knew you fry out mean to get the grease to make your best gravy. Imagine this--me frying dried chip beef to get grease out. My hubby laughed and ask what was i doing? Now its what was i thinking.? I still laugh about it.

I got heavy handed with the salt shaker one day while I was making a pot of Navy Beans. I seldom make them any more. They use to be a weekly staple in our house when my husband was not very high on the military pay scale.
With my luck, when my ship comes in, I will be at the airport!

Gosh all my dishes usually turn out just like I planned and I have never had one turn out bad. HAHA Just kidding I have had so many I couldn't remember the worst, maybe I'll go with the most recent. I made brownies the other day that by the day after they were hard as a rock. Is that normal? They were fine the first day

I kinda did what Navy wife did once. I was staying at my dads for awhile and was cooking some dry pinto beans. He didn't have any regular salt but a bag of canning salt. I put some in the beans. I tasted of the soup along while cooking. They tasted like they needed salt so i added some more...about 3 more times. When we got ready to eat these, they were so salty we couldn't eat them. LOL

I like trying new recipes so, I found a recipe in a cookbook called "Prize Potluck Casserole". It had lentils and tomatoes and polish sausage. All things I like yet it came out horrible. I wrote on the recipe "never again". I hate when that happens, you spend time, looking for new recipes, buy the ingredients, and then the meal isn't satisfactory. OH well, live and learn.

Can't think of one off hand but I do have some disasters and wonder what I was thinking to put those ingredients together! LOL
