Baked Brie

  • Keep some Brie in the refrigerator and you'll always have the fixins for this quick appetizer!


    1/4 cup dark corn syrup
    1/2 lb. Brie cheese, rind removed
    1/4 cup chopped pecans

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place cheese in shallow oven safe serving dish. Top with pecans and corn syrup. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or till cheese is almost melted. Serve warm with plain crackers or melba toast. 4- 6 servings
  • Of all of the cheeses that I've eaten, I've never tried Brie. Is it a mild cheese? What's it compared to?
  • It is a lot like Camembert cheese. It has a buttery flavor and is a soft cheese. One thing though, it only keeps about two weeks and if it develops mold on it it needs to be thrown away. It is "ripened" from the outside in. There are many varities of it that differ quite a bit from one another.
