daughter's graduation

My 18-year-old daughter will be graduating from high school this coming May. Any ideas for a graduation gift, or something special to do for her after graduation?

Many moons since I graduated but my parents gave me a pearl necklace that I ended up wearing when I got married. We just had a family/friend party at the house. Maybe she would like to go out for dinner/lunch. I have a way to go before I have someone that graduates high school.

Best of luck!

Depending on your expenses, my nephew gave his daughter the diamond necklace that represents, past present future.

Another idea for a girl that I like, even if you are not a religous family, I think one of the big Bibles that you display, that you record the family history in, is a great idea. I am not a religous person, but I have one of the Bibles, and I really like it, kinda of a family herloom to pass on to my children.

Graduation Gift and Ideas

Hi, when I graduated my mother gave me a set of luggage. That luggage served me well. Even when I moved into my first apartment.

Also it really depends on your child's plans after high school. My daughter went to college. She needed a lot so I bought a TV and VCR. She is still using them.

My son also graduates this year so I will have think hard about him. I am also giving him a party the Saturday after graduation. The grandparents will be down so they can all have a ball.

Just my thoughts

Doris

Make her a scrapbook of the big day. Include some highlights from her school days.

When my oldest daughter graduated from high school I didn't have the money to go and buy her something...so I spent months working on things that she would need when she got her own place. I crocheted doilies, I embroidered dresser scarves with crocheted edging, I embroidered tea towels for the days of the week....you get the idea...it was a lot of fun. She is now 35 and she still uses them. Hope this helps...

Yes she does. My daughters do not like it when I buy them presents, they like it when I make them things. Think they are going to get painted rocks this year for christmas, even tho I can afford to buy presents now... hehe

Glad you liked the idea.
