Pinkie Winky Housewarming Gift Ideas For a Son ( Daughters too of course)

It is often hard to think of an appropriate gift for a man who has just bought a house. Ive come up with a few gift ideas to make this task a little easier.

A Bottle of Nice Wine, Some Fuit, Cheeses and Crackers
To make this into a gift basket, add some wine glasses, a cheese tray and cheese knife.

Prepaid Newspaper Subscription
Either local, City or World
To make this into a gift basket, add some of his favorite morning treats..... scones or donuts, some coffee or tea, orange juice along with the first copy of the paper that youve paid for. Be sure to include a card telling him that he has a subscription to this paper and for how long it will last.

Homemade Gift Certificates from You
What man do you know who could resist an offer to help clean his house? Create homemade certificates good for one day of laundry, ironing, housecleaning, home cooked meals.....use your imagination for these.

Food Baskets
Go straight to his stomach with these! If you know his favorite meal, stick the dry foods in a basket and include a gift certificate to the local grocery store for the rest of the items. Add the recipe if needed.

You can also create a dessert basket by filling jars with the dry ingredients for cookies or brownies, a gift certificate for the wet ingredients, muffin tins, wooden spoons, measuring spoons, a bowl and oven mitts. dont forget to print out the recipe for the dessert!

Grill Accessories
Most Men think that they are the King of thier grills. To help them out, Put together a basket containing interesting grill sauces, new grill tools, a grill cleaner brush, grill gloves......even a grill cookbook. To add a whimsical touch, you could add a personalized apron or chef's hat too.

Happy Housewarming!!!

Tami

if the man got a new house because he has retired and move close to the lake, a new fishing rod, fishing box, and other things for fishing is great.

if he likes to work in the yard, get him some yard things to work with.

I do a large basket and put in washcloths, bath towels, soap and shampoo, bar of soap, toilet paper, kitchen towel, dish soap, paper towels, a few microwaveable meals, bottled water and drink mixes you put in them, a btl of wine and glasses, nuts and mints, cheese and crackers and fresh fruits. This all goes to the couple on moving into their new home on moving day!

Debbie, I do something similiar Here's what I like to do for a housewarming or shower or wedding gift

I like to get a laundry basket & fill it with household cleaners.. laundry soap, softener, paper towels, dish soap, dish towels & dish cloths. I also like to put in things that you ordinarily don't get, like measuring cups & spoons, spatulas & things like that.

Great Minny! I know that type of gift on moving day seems to always be appreciated because after a long moving day they really don't want to go searching for needed items that first day!
