Post Here and There, This and That of chats...

This probably isn't where the moderator's will want this, but it seemed appropriate for me to post a new thread here, as some of the other threads seem to be lost in postings...so for give me if I'm in the wrong post-able section. :-) My original post was going to be asking whether the "pie awards" actually made it past the polling thread, I saw the chit-chat that it would be and that some of the moderators would get together and discuss possible new "guidelines" and a reminder of Alice & Alicia's pies (and other recipes) would be where to go. Then I had wondered what other possible awards would be available for the month of November, as many of us in the Northern Hemisphere are enjoying fall, and soon to be winter, then spring, and of course summer - where as our Southern Hemisphere friends are reverse... Will we have themed awards for recipes, a monthly vs weekly award for the recipes, etc And of course my mind filled with several other Q & A's, but I decided to stop with these and see what everyone else thought, and of course read back from the moderators.
One other question for A.I.O. what's the update on the spammers?

We are giving out the pie award. We are using Amanda's Cooking for the recipes.

Go here for info
http://www.familycorner.com/forums/a...ng-amanda.html

We have a craft club where you can earn awards. http://www.familycorner.com/forums/c...ml#post1090178
You will win an award for every project you make.

We do not at this time have an award for monthly recipes or themed recipes. We have the weekly blue ribbon and the weekly Chef Guy. We may give out a few extra blue ribbons for Thanksgiving and/or Christmas.

The problem with spammers has decreased due to some changes that were made.

Thanks Seleach and A.I.O. for the updates...

In this weeks News letter: FamilyCorner.com Forums Newsletter: 2/08/13, we were greeted with an exceptional article " ARTICLE PICK OF THE WEEK
Parenting the Argumentative Child - by Dr. Caron B. Goode." I say exceptional for the sheer fact that this article isn't aimed at just the parents / guardians of children with behaviors commonly associated with stubbornness, but an aid for any adult dealing with children who prefer to not follow the rules or to push the borderlines as often as possible. I found the article quiet exhilarating for the fact that many of my family and friends have chosen to explain to me how it is not an adults decision to give a child an ultimatum regarding their choice(s) upon general activities - especially those of cleaning up their own rooms within x-amount of hours before losing items not put away by the child, same can be said for teacher's /aides in schools where the class has limited time to clean-up after an activity in which everyone is required to pick-up the item(s) that they used during that time frame or lose the use of that item or area next time. Children are always asking questions, and need to have boundaries to push... Something many hands-off parents, guardians, and teachers forget, and it does harm the children later in life - no boundaries can lead to reckless lifestyles. Finding the balance between too many and not enough is the key.

Coodo's to all the winners - I read so many!!

Grats to Amanda for "Pintrest" inquiry... looks like your interest is growing (4 pages worth of communications)!!

The book of the month club is coming along nicely, read a few synopsis that caught my attention - hopefully before the year is out I will have my own synopsis and have read at least one of theses themed books!

Off to play some of the games from the newsletter!

Happy February everyone!!
