Oh my goodness.. you all have to watch this video, it's too funny and so cute as kids try to figure out what it is and what it does.

I can think of a magnitude of things from my past that would stump and dumbfound the younger generation!

Stumped was cute.......When I think about how things were when I was young it's truly amazing how very far we have come from back in the day when I was a kid.

yes I got a good laugh out of it too, I so remember typing class in twelfth grade as preparation for college papers, and that ten page research paper I wrote in the spring of my high school graduation year, on a typewriter at the kitchen table of course!

I am not sure what other things from my youth my dds would not recognize today though?

Ellen. You and I are much alike in the way we raised our kids, and the level of old-fashioned that we practiced, so I tend to think kids who are brought up in homes like yours and mine would be more savvy when it comes to older or past things.

One thing I know kids of today wouldn't remember or are old enough to remember... those old Z-fold printers that spit-out perforated paper, where once done being spit-out, you folded over the outer edge of the paper and tore-away the perforated edge? Remember those big bulky contraptions? I haven't seen one in ages, but remember them well! Noisy things, too!

That's just one thing that came to mind, because it's closely related and sort of in the same family as the old typewriter.

I'll think of more...

OM! we use one of those printers for one of our automated analyzers here in the lab! in fact, it was replaced last year when the one that was 25 years old broke down. All were amazed that they still make them, in fact, we had two models to choose from that this analyzer software (DOS based) would work with! pretty funny, right?!

OMG, Ellen, I am so red in the face right now! LOL!!! I had no idea! I was under the impression that those old Z-fold machines had long been replaced by something more modern.

Shame on me!
