What have you stopped

What have you stopped that you wish you could start again.

I used to have a group of friends that fed homeless people. Most of you on here know the story that the laws changed around here and we were kicked out of the park. Nowadays you have to have a permit and an approved (health permit) kitchen.
I don't have the money, energy or gumption to go thru all those hoops but IF I DID, that would be something I would like to start again. It always made me feel so good feeding hungry people. And back in the 70s and 80s they were legitimate homeless people, mostly older men. Nowadays the demographics are very different and though I understand that, it's a much different feeling when you are feeding people who just sort of expect it compared to people who were much more appreciative in the "older days."

I try to feed homeless people on a single basis, like if I am at McDonalds, buy a homeless person a meal. That's exactly what Mother Teresa says, "If you can't feed 100, feed one."

I still have a huge passion for people who are out on the streets.

How about you, what's something you have stopped that you would like to start again?

Something I've stopped, but would like to do again

Where I live their are laws about food and the homless, mainly because someone has made a business of hiring homeless folks to panhandle the major roadways where I am at. A new law was past that panhandlers would be arrested for being as agressive as they had gotten...and it was pretty bad around here, even umoungst homeless trying to get by for the day!. But I am happy there are ligitimate places which can assist these folks.

As for what I have stopped doing and would really like to do again. Work!
Yep, that is my one wish. To have a part-time job where I can be productive in a position which does not require lifting 10 pounds or more equivelant to a 100 pounds a day. One where I can watch children grow in their surroundings by answering their own questions and showing HOW they discovered the answers. Or one where the scrpbooks I create (not finished) could be in demand by the people who need one, but don't really want to make one - can add their personal items but not do all the work.
If you see someone in need of help and you can do something, then do something — that goes for people and animals. If you can help out, try. That’s what I hope people take away from this.” -Alex Scroggins
