Since you have so many friends, ask if any of them would mind bringing a covered dish for the reception. I used my sis-in-laws wedding gown, the cake was a wedding gift (so were the invitations and thank you cards). If you know someone with a slicer you could buy bulk, and have sliced meat and cheeses with a few different types of bread. Our wedding was held outside my in-laws house.
