I've been making my own dog food for my elderly dog for 2 1/2 years now. I have found that it is way cheaper than the store bought, especially since what I am making is a prescription diet, which can only be purchased through a Vet. I make a huge batch that makes about 3 weeks worth of dog food at any given time. Then, I freeze it in single serving baggies. I roll mine into little tube-like shapes so that can lay on top of each other in rows. I take out one from the freezer and pop in the microwave for about a minute and a half. Although it is cheaper, it is also time consuming. I would not be going through this much trouble in my busy life if it weren't for the fact that my baby needs it to live a happy, healthy life as the prescription stuff is nasty.
