That's sad to hear that the teachers do that.

I think that this week should be spent telling or showing the teachers how much you are thankful for them -- not buying meaningless gifts.

We decided to buy our kids' teachers breakfast yesterday morning. I sent a note to school on Tuesday asking them to tell us what they would like for breakfast and the reason behind why we were doing it. All of them (my son's teacher and my daughter's teacher & asstistant) seemed genuinely thankful for the gesture.

We are going to write letters to them to tell them how much we are thankful for them.
