Please note this is a take off of a recipe from a microwave cookbook that was given to me 10 years ago. I had to revise it to an oven version, then I had an abundance of cabbage, and my oven burner burned had to figure out how to make cabbage rolls in the crockpot, my family loves cabbage rolls.
Here is the easy.

1 lb ground beef
2 (15 oz) cans tomato sauce
1/2 cup cooked rice
4 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons cider vinegar
Several leaves of cabbage shredded

Brown the ground beef, cook rice. Throw all in the crockpot and mix well. Cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours.

I usually put the ground beef in first, then the rice, half the sauce then add as much shredded cabbage as desired, then add the rest of the sauce.

The ground beef I use is repackaged from bulk bought so it is probably less than a pound, and I usually make 1 cup of rice to make up for the loss of ground beef, and it is a little more filling, and costs less!!!

The casserole tastes like cabbage rolls, without the hassle of precooking the cabbage, (the cabbage is so soft) trying to fill the leaves and keeping them together.
