Lightbulb bloody cake

Bloody Cake
or Red Velvet Cake
Frost white and the cake will look bright red. Drip red food coloring over the edges and splatter to top of the cake with food coloring.

2 cups sifted cake flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 pound unsalted butter, room temperature
1-1/2 cups granulated sugar
3 eggs, lightly beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon white wine vinegar
1 cup buttermilk
1-ounce bottle red food coloring
cream cheese frosting

Preheat the oven to 375F.
Lightly butter and flour two 9-inch cake pans.
Combine flour, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cocoa.
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add the eggs and vanilla.
Combine the vinegar, buttermilk and red food coloring.
Alternately add buttermilk mixture and flour mixture to the butter, stir well after each addition.
Transfer the batter to the prepared cake pans.
Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until done.
Remove from oven and cool in pans 5 minutes.
Remove cakes from the pans and transfer to a cake rack to cool
Frost with cream cheese frosting.
