My Irish Grandma's St Patrick's Day Menu

Unless it was Friday, of course, then she'd serve fish.....

Boiled ham and cabbage, cooked until the cabbage practically disintegrated
Mashed potatoes
Homemade white rolls
Cake
Tea

To boil ham: get a smoked ham, BUTT half. For an 8-pound ham, put it in a big stock pot, cover with water, cover the pot, bring to boil and turn WAY down until it just simmers. After about 2 hours add cabbage and keep cooking until cabbage is cooked the way you like it. This will give a very moist and delicious ham, and the cabbage will taste great too!
