Pinto Beans in the slow cooker

1 lb. dried pinto beans
1 small onion, chopped
2 beef bouillon cubes
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 tbsp chili powder
1 tbsp minced garlic

Wash beans in several changes of water, removing undesirable beans. Soak the beans overnight or bring to a boil, cover for 1 hour and then proceed with recipe. Drain and rinse the beans and cover with water 2" above the top of the beans. Add the bouillon, salt, black pepper, chili powder and garlic. Cook on Low for 8 hours.

We Welcome Strays

When I was young we used to go "skinny dipping"; now we just "chunky dunk"

“The value of doing something does not lie in the ease or difficulty, the probability or improbability of its achievement, but in the vision, the plan, the determination and the perseverance, the effort and the struggle which go into the project. Life is enriched by aspiration and effort, rather than by acquisition and accumulation.”
