Pumpkin Gingerbread

1 - 16 oz can pumpkin
4 eggs
3 1/2 cups flour
2 cups sugar
1 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup light molasses
1/3 cup water
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp ground cloves

Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Beat at low speed for 30 seconds and scrape the bowl often. Beat at medium speed 3 minutes,scraping the bowl occasionally. Spoon into a greased and floured 9 x 13" baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes or till the edges pull away from the sides of the pan. Serve with warm applesauce. Makes 16 servings
