Foam Shamrocks

February 12th, 2013 posted by Amanda Formaro

Foam shapes are so fun to use and really easy for little ones to manipulate. St. Patrick’s Day is fast approaching so plan some of these cute projects to celebrate the festive day!

You will need

3 green foam hearts

green chenille stem

green button, pom pom, or sequin

white craft glue or hot glue

scraps of craft foam

If you make this project

we’d love to see it! Just send your photos and comments to the editor and it may get published on our Facebook fan page !

What you do

// There are two ways to do this, depending on the age group of the kids you are working with. For older kids, simply hot glue the hearts together to form a shamrock.

For smaller kids, use a couple of small scrap pieces of foam to glue the hearts to since white glue does not dry as quickly as hot glue. Using the scrap foam you can glue the hearts to it and it will be in the back and not seen from the front of the craft.

Cut a 2 or 3 inch piece off the chenille stem and glue to the back of the shamrock.

Glue button, sequin or pom pom to the center of the shamrock. If you like you can glue a magnet or pin to the back or leave the craft as is.
