Revitalizing Damaged Hair

If you use a good shampoo and conditioner and your hair does not shine, try an oil massage to nourish the damaged hair. Take one to three tablespoons of either herbal, olive, almond or coconut oil, and warm it. Be careful not to let it overheat and smoke. Then, use a piece of cotton or your fingertips to apply oil on the scalp. Slowly massage the oil out to the tips of your hair. For long hair, rub the ends of your hair between oily palms. This will help split ends from forming.

Use your finger tips and the palm of your hand to massage the scalp gently but firmly in circular motions. An oil massage nourishes the scalp and improves circulation, which helps to rejuvenate dull hair. Let the oil sit in your hair for 20 minutes. In a hot bath, shampoo thoroughly and remove all traces of the oil. When you're done, the hair should feel squeaky clean.
