Needle Threading

Click here for a printable version of this tip

I do alot of sewing with yarn and use a long doll needle; however, the eye of the needle is very long and narrow. It makes it almost impossible to thread the yarn through the eye. I have happened on a solution. Take an inch piece of scotch tape and place the end of the yarn down onto it. Fold the piece of tape lengthwise over it. You end up with a blunt end. Take a pair of scissors and cut the end on an angle to form a sharp point. Perfect for threading a needle! This also works with a regular needle and thread. After threading the needle, grasp the end of the tape firmly and gently pull the tape off the yarn or thread. No leftover mess on the thread or yarn and you are ready to go!
