How To Stop A Child From Being A Bully

Frustration is what usually prompts a child to lash
out at others. If your child is becoming a bully, here
are some suggestions:

-- Search for the source of frustration, then address it.
-- Consider your child's need for extra time and attention.
-- Help your child understand the effect that hurtful actions
have on others.
-- Lay down the law. Make it clear that such behavior is
-- Be consistent with consequences for the behavior.

Through it all, strive to be a good role model. Show your
child how to express frustration with words instead of with
threats or physical aggression.
