Stop Aging: Superfoods for Less Wrinkles

Is eating right a key to looking younger? Experts agree that there are seven superfoods that are supposed to do the trick and contribute to a wrinkle-free glow. Is it really that simple? Check out the list for the suggestions.

Olive Oil will create a healthy glow with its good fats. Heart-healthy omega-3 is recommended to improve circulation making skin soft and smooth. One tablespoon a day is recommended.

Blueberries are extremely high in antioxidants. One-half cup every day may help to prevent cell structure damage. The skin is protected from damaging free radicals created from sun and stress.

Omega-3 fatty acids strengthen skin cell membranes, keeping moisture in. Two 6-ounce servings a week of salmon can assist with improvement for psoriasis and eczema. Omega-3’s will also be found in walnuts and flax seeds.

Watermelons and tomatoes contain plenty of vitamin C, potassium, and lycopene that regulate the nutrients in cells with balance of water. Eating one of these daily will brighten complexion.

Spinach is great for firming skin as well as eye health. Rich in antioxidants, beta-carotene and lutein, the nutrients are noted to improve skin elasticity according to a Journal of Agricultural Food Chemistry study. Three cups of spinach or kale each week is recommended for best results.

Pomegranates are recommended for softening skin. One cup of pomegranate seeds per week will guard against the wrinkling caused by sun damage. Compounds in the seeds fight free radicals and increase the body’s capacity to preserve collagen. Skin may appear smoother and plumper for a more rested look.

Green tea is recommended for fading pesky brown spots. Studies say that with one cup a day, spots may lighten in as little as one month. It contains catechins, which is one of the highest rated compounds for preventing hyperpigmentation. Green tea is also known for its role in weight control.
