7 Simple Steps to Great Skin
by Cathy Jacobs

Taking care of your skin is important and you will reap the benefits of your diligence as you grow older. Follow these tips and you'll benefit with cleaner, clearer more beautiful skin.

1. Stay out of the sun as much as possible, and always wear sunscreen on your face. Sun damage is a major reason why people get wrinkles. Use a moisturizer with sunscreen every morning to kill two birds with one stone.

2. Don't smoke! Smoking makes your skin dry and sallow. It is also the number one cause of facial wrinkles in women.

3. Drink lots of water. Aim for 8-10 glasses a day to keep your skin hydrated and healthy.

4. Get lots of sleep. Your skin shows it when you don't by getting dull and losing its healthy glow.

5. Cleanse your skin every morning and night with a gentle cleanser (not soap, which can dry out your skin). Don't go to bed with makeup on your face, which can clog your pores and cause breakouts!

6. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables. These are nature's natural beauty aids.

7. Avoid stress as much as you can. Stress can cause your oil glands to go into over- production, leading to breakouts and blackheads. When you feel yourself getting stressed out, distract yourself with exercise, listening to good music or talking to a friend.
