What You Do:

Making the bottom

Step 1 Decide the order your cardstock will lay.

Step 2 Leave the outside piece of cardstock at 12X12

Step 3 Trim the next piece of cardstock to 11 3/4 X 11 3/4

Step 4 Trim the next piece of cardstock to 11 1/2 X 11 1/2

Step 5 Trim the next piece of cardstock to 11 1/4 X 11 1/4

Step 6 On all 4 pieces of cardstock measure in 4 inches from each side and score the paper(make sure you don't go all the way through) You should have 9 squares showing. Cut away the square in each corner leaving you with a cross shape.

Step 7 On all 4 pieces of cardstock fold up all the sides. Place adhesive on the bottom of all the center square except the bottom piece. Layer them on top of one anouther sticking the centers together. Make sure the outer flaps are not stuck together.

Making the Top

Step 1 Using your ruler find the center of your patterned paper and mark it with a pencil on the back.

Step 2 Take each corner and fold it up to the center mark. Leave it folded.

Step 3 Fold each side to the center creasing then open up and fold the other 2 sides into the center.

Step 4 Unfold your piece of paper.

Step 5 With paper laid down and in a diamond shape cut in following fold lines to the center square on each side.

Step 6 Glue down the top and bottom sides following the fold lines

Step 7 Glue remaining flaps from top and bottom to form sides

Step 8 Glue the cut sides of the paper(sides) into the box to finish and hold the sides in place.

Step 9 Gather up all the edges of the bottom and place the top on it.

Step 10 Embellish or decorate any way you want.
