What you do

Place the tin on top of the fun foam sheet and trace the outlines of the separate pieces on the tin, cut pieces with scissors. Tape the individual piece on the fun foam sheet and tape the pattern on top of that and trace the design with a ballpoint pen, pressing into the tin. Remove pattern and use pointed clay tool to press the lines equally deep into the tin. Turn the tin over and using one of the round tools emboss the parts of the design that need to stand out the most, the duck's head and cheek and the cattails. Check the front side to see if you have embossed enough.

When all the tin pieces are finished, sand the box and stain it. Then glue the tin pieces in place and let dry. Now is a good time to paint the hinges if necessary. When the glue holding the tin is dry, stain over the tin to give it a blue tint.

Varnish the whole box including the tin. Let dry. Next glue the cord around the edges of the tin, this gives a nice finished edge so fingers won't get scratched.
