This question looks like it's a moot point anyway. Yesterday my GYN called me (yes, the actual doctor, not his office staff) to tell me that the pre-op biopsy showed that NO, I am not a good candidate for an ablation. In order to treat the problems I am having, I can choose "chemically-induced menopause" for 6 months OR a hysterectomy. He says he can do the surgery laparoscopically, which has a shorter recovery time.
I have to go back on Wednesday for ANOTHER consult and make my decision.
I have to say, at this point I am leaning toward surgery as the idea of taking all those hormones really frightens me. With the surgery I would keep my ovaries, so I would go through menopause naturally, on my own. (I'm 44.)
