Last night everyone had something different! Dh had left-over meatloaf, dd had chicken strips and I had shrimp pad thai.

We are going to get our Christmas tree today (finally feels like winter here)! Hopefully we'll just do pizza or something else "delivered" since we'll be busy with the tree! Time to get out our Christmas music . . . .

Hi there, Momperson! Glad to see you around again!

Last night we went to the Pancake House. It really hit the spot. I got their cornmeal pancakes which were delicious.

Still thinking about what we'll have tonight.

Tonight I'm making Lizzie-boo's Skillet Lasagna.

Been doing a lot of cleaning today since we are doing the Christmas decorations (all but the tree) tomorrow so I wanted to get the house "as ready as possible" for doing that. I still have to iron but without a football game to watch...what will I do for entertainment?

Hello all,

Hope everyone is enjoying a relaxing Saturday afternoon.

Warm and muggy here, but we are still putting up our Christmas tree and decorations this afternoon. I am in the Christmas mood!!!

One of our local radio station's website plays Xmas music 24/7 through December. We LOVE that!!! I have it piping through the computer now!!!

Dinner will be out tonight, just not sure where!!!

Have a great afternoon!!!

Well, I pretty much spent my whole day in the kitchen today. My girlfriends and I have a yearly Christmas party, and it's tomorrow. We do a cookie/candy exchange and do crafts with all of the kids. There are 7 of us, plus about 8 kids, depending on who is able to come. We've been doing this for about 13 years now. It's actually a group of my friends from high school. We've all managed to stay in contact. This is honestly something I look forward to all year long! And we take turns hosting the party, so each of us only has to do that once every 7 years. Anyway, I did all of my stuff for the exchange today: fudge, turtles, thin mints and frosted cookies (sort of like sugar cookies).

Since that will take up most of the day tomorrow, I did most of my menu planning/"pre-cooking" today. Tonight's dinner was beef and bean enchiladas and Mexican rice.

And here's the menu for the first few days of the week:

SUNDAY: Meatloaf, cream corn and rolls
MONDAY: Beef stroganoff and garlic bread.
TUESDAY: Shredded chicken sandwiches and chips
WEDNESDAY: Crock pot chili with oyster crackers, sour cream and shredded cheese

And now I'm wiped out! Time to go to bed and get rested up for the party tomorrow!

Tonight was Golden Corral! We went to a fabulous Christmas program (make that EXTRAVAGANZA!) at a church in north Phoenix with family and friends. Afterward we walked through the Chinese business district and drove through downtown Tempe to see the lights. Then Golden Corral. It was good. We all ate too much.

We liked Lizzie's skillet lasagna! (I used the mafalda noodles as she suggested and it worked great). I'm going to share this recipe with friends. I didn't put in the cheese until it was served, because not everyone wanted ricotta. It was great "with" and "without" the cheese! And only one pan to wash It did make a lot, so there's plenty for lunches this week for me and DH.

Tonight's plan is Swiss Chicken Bake with rice and vegetables.

Saturday we did some Christmas shopping got a late start so ate at Cracker Barrel when we were done.

Sunday will be a leftover banquet, pick your dinner.

Monday is DH's birthday and he has requested steak, pinto beans and pumpkin pie.
