This month should bring us cooler temperatures. That means it's times for stews, soups, etc...

Thanks for all the birthday wishes back on the September thread! Had a relaxing day just doing not much of anything except what I felt like at the time! Worked outside which I enjoy and actually sat down and enjoyed sitting on the porch watching the dog, cat and chickens running around!
Ended up fixing roasted potatoes and heating the leftover steamed broccoli, mushrooms, peppers and of course onions to go along with the pinto beans and cornbread.
Have a good evening!

Finishing up leftovers for lunch and for dinner we are having brats, saurkraut and mashed potatoes. Planning on cooking chili for Sunday which will give us another meal during the week and I'll freeze what is left for later.
DebK, do you do a turkey dinner like we do in the USA or is that just our own tradition? Just curious
I have been cooking all day....we had our Fall Festival at school today. We served HOMEMADE pulled pork (I bought the rest to take home for lunch tomorrow), kielbasa, sauerkraut (made by me!), hot dogs, sausage & peppers, pizza. Unfortunately I didn't feel good yesterday so I didn't bake the pies for the pie contest The winners got really good prizes. There were 12 entries, all kinds of pies. I think the judges gained a few pounds!
Fortunately I had a chicken & noodle casserole in the freezer (futureteacher's recipe), and I put it in the fridge this morning to defrost. It's in the oven now. All I have to do is make a vegetable for the side dish, and we're all set.
