No I dont sew, I wish I did. I do enjoy wathcing those shows every now and again. With your craftiness you would love HGTV and DIY channels. You should check out their websites, I bet you would find all kinds of projects to do. I think I am going to do a search right now, maybe find some holiday ideas that even I could do!

I don't think it would matter-LOL! As long as dd was warm!!! My sister has only been here a few months before me so we're both trying to figure this place out...I wish I would've known that it actually does get cold or I would've bought one at the garage sales. I did get a nice jacket and sent dd off to school in that today. She has another one as well from Tennessee, but if today and yesterday are any indication of how cold it'll get, she'll need a pretty thick one soon. My sister and I looked up the weather record for our cities. It'll be from 60 to 80 in the middle of the day. In the morning and about 4 to 6 p.m. it gets all the way down to the teens!!!
I thought it was smart of me to ask around from the locals...this time that was a big, big mistake!!!
Well, today I got the sales paper...they have that wonderful 10 for $10 back! I love that sale...10 good items, name-brands and things you actually want to eat for $10.
Another store has cases on sale from $2.99 on up. I like the case of yogurt for $2.99 and the case of veggies for $3.99. The sale is good up until next Wednesday so I have time.
Leasmom--when we lived in Colorado Springs it was COLD. We had the 10 inches of snow while we were in the hotel then the next winter we had a blizzard on the north end of town. Ft. Carson on the south end got a couple of inches at best. WEIRD! We were in District 11 school and they have (had anyway) a policy that allowed the parents to keep kids home on incelment weather days. If a parent called them in then the lost day was NOT counted against them. I called my kids in a couple of times. Once while in the hotel on the other end of town and once when the wind chill was several degrees below zero. My middle dd had had pneumonia 3 times since she was a baby and we did NOT want a repeat with her standing on a cold corner waiting for a bus. (I worked at the hospital so not home to take them).
I don't know about now but when we lived in the Springs it got BITTER cold. The closer you got to Monument and Denver the colder it got. I do recall Pueblo, being south was not nearly as cold but it DID get cold. Summers were marvelous though.

I wish I could have a whopper for dinner, but they tend not to like me!
I to am uninspired but then again thats nothing new for me. It will have to be simple as I have an appointment at 6:00 with a physcial therapist, been having back issues.
Thinking soup and turkey roll ups...My soup will be progresso, I should be ashamed that is one of my goals this winter...Learn to make soup other than broccoli cheese!

Leasmom - we have a 10 for $10 sale at our grocery store this week. I've never seen one before, but they were not really offering things I buy.
I found this link in an email today, I've seen hats and tote bags crochet out of grocery bags but this is different and you don't have to crochet! Here is another use for all those plastic bags we accumulate.

Pueblo's like 10 degrees higher in temp than in C. Springs at all times
Summers are horrible! It was up to 109 this summer. I absolutely hated it!!! What's funny is that dd was still expected to play t-ball in that kind of weather! She did...red faced and all and downing water from the water bottle. It's like two different extremes here...too hot/too cold.
I'm originally from Detroit and you'd think I was used to cold weather-(ice freezes on your face there)-but I was never the cold weather type and living in Tennessee for 3 yrs has gotten me out of that. In Tennessee we didn't wear a coat until late December or January, last year it was Christmas day when we needed a coat. Boy is this a shock to our systems!!!
I've got to go to Kmart today...I was looking at some really cute ones a month ago...it was like $22. If I can't get it, if I can't find one at the thrift store...I'll put it into layaway. I have to do the same for my niece. I ordered a jacket from ABC but it's too big for her, so I'm gonna send it back. I'll just see what either Kmart or Wallyworld have, after the Thrift Stores, of course.
