I think I saw something like that on HGTV on Decorating Cents with using old ties to make a slip cover for a chair at a desk. It looked really classy. I may have to go see about some old ties

I'm disgusted with Meijer's they changed their coupon policy which added $5 to my total today. Then when I got home I noticed that 2 items where wrung up at full price that had sale tags on the shelf adding another $4 to by bill. I didn't notice when I scanned my receipt before leaving was running late to pick up the youngest from therapy.

I picked up 6 lb of carrots for $1.99 (gave 3 lb to my sister) will be eating lots of carrots, LOL. Ended up only saving about 1/3 on my bill since Meijer's changed the number of coupons you are allowed to use and limited the purchase quanity for sale prices.

Made up a Thanksgiving bag for school, my daughter's class was to take cleaning products and personal care items in for their Thanksgiving Mass on Tuesdays. I got a bottle of Sauve shampoo for free today that went in and pulled from the cupboard a 6.2 oz tube of toothpaste, a bottle of Dawn, a bottle of towlet bowl cleaner, bottle of multi surface cleaner, a trial size bottle of conditioner and some face cleanser & Dawn samples that I had gotten in the mail. My total cost was $3-4 since I bought everything on sale with coupons.

Paintingnut - your tie creations are so cute! I saw on another website where ties were used to make a Christmas stocking.

I envy everyone who is getting a good headstart on Christmas. I have a couple of things put away, but a lot more to do.

I love the skirts out of the neckties, I think I'll show the picture to my sister to see if she can make one. I need to get my coupons ready tonight because I am going grocery shopping tomorrow after work I'll let everyone know how much I save. You all take care and talk to you tomorrow.

I have gotten the formula down to a science now with the skirts.. if you are looking to make one for 30 inch waist, you use 14 ties and an extra one for the waist band ( cut them at about 16 or 17 inches above the wide point.. for a 32 inch waist I used 15 ties and so on.. just make sure they all coodernate color wise the patterns dont matter at all. the hardest part is putting in the zipper. All you have to do is put the ties side by side and zig zag them together all the way up. Its that easy. now if you wanted a straight skirt with a longer length, I did make one that was 22 inches long, put the ties alternating pointing up and down right next to each other and made one that way.. but it takes a lot more ties that way and looks way different. On that skirt i sewed all the way up the ties and did not cut them to length until I had enough of them to make the waist size I needed then used the left over parts that I cut off to make a purse. Its pretty basic and easy to do, I would say a younger girl could probably make these with no problems what so ever.

Those tie skirts are really cute.

I go to Meijer a lot so will have to see if ours has a new coupon policty too. I know they remodeled the grocery section and I don't see the discounted bakery cart anymore. When a new manager comes in he/she change the way clearance items are done. Used to get single underwear and socks for .23 or .50 that had come from packages taht had been opened. Don't have taht anymore.

I did go to Meijer yesterday and got an extra 10% off genral merchandise as I have a Meijer's card that rewards DD school. I found some Halloween stuffed toys and dog toys and they were 90% off, so got some for relatives dogs for Christmas and to use at the school's Fall Festival next year. Ended up paying $111. and saving 253. with groceries, christmas presents and above items.

Good Morning Ladies

I am at home this morning while dh is working overtime till noon. It feels strange being at home without a vehicle,dh offerred to let me take him in and take the truck for chores but I told him if something were to happen, a accident etc. he would be stuck at work and have to ask a co worker for a ride home. At least here if a emergency comes up we have alot of neighbor friends close by that I could get a ride plus my sister works about 15 minutes away and she could come get me. I will be cleaning the house as mil will be coming here for Thanksgiving dinner.

LoriMae-

Your mail box is full.

I went to Aldi's last night and got that trip over. Today's the big game and dh wanted a special lunch for the game, so I got him the hot and spicy chicken wings. We will be deadlocked in our neighborhood until the game starts, huge traffic jams... when the game starts all around town will be a ghost town till it's over.

GO BUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's supposed to be nice weather here today in the 60's maybe rain? I'm going to hang a few things on the clothesline outside while I can.

Well gotta go. Have a great day everyone.

Anna

Frugal today was...

several things. Going to the Garment Fest and finding lots of sweaters for dd and nieces for free. Then walking through the mall and finding a coat for dd that was $29.99 but it was 40% off and so it was $17.00, $19.00 with taxes. I told my sister to keep the coat in Colorado. It is a nice bubble type coat.

Frugal also was going to the parade and will be going to a Free Thanksgiving dinner and then to the Speedway for their Speedway in Lights for $5 per car.
