Thankyou all ! I dont know whats going to happen. He hopes to find another job within but is not very confident about it. They have not given him an exact exit date mid to late November is all he knows. He wasnt even able to get in touch with HR to find out about what exactly his severance would be...
We will get through it we have no choice.
The one thing I will be checking out is to see if we lose our insurance is there some sort of program though our state to cover them. Again thanks for all your thoughts.
Tami does describe it perfect shocked, scared and helpless!

Leighann

I know the health insurance is a big concern... you may want to check with Anthem for private insurance, they've advertised it alot prior to all this presidential advertisement campaign. It's something to think about as a option.

We will all be here for you in any way we can and will keep striving to help each tighen our belts and stay frugal and learn new ways too.

Take care and stay in touch with us.. there is such a wealth of knowledge and experience on here that I'm sure one of us has the answer to most questions as we've all been there at one time or another.

YIPPEE!! I LOVE A GOOD DAY!!

ok...you all know we are trying to start our own business of hauling. well a lady called yesterday and wanted us to pick up 2 chairs, ( which we usually dont do as we dont really haul trash) and a refriderator. she was an older lady and wanted to know what we charge. we do it free i told her. she said why, and i explained the reason was we scrap the metal. dh got there today and she wanted to get rid of 2 aluminum and web chaise lounges for the outside, and a deep freeze. its almost new, and even still has the energy guide. its an upright, and the best part is..IT STILL WORKS. she said she couldnt get it to work, and was on her way to fl, this is her summer home. dh brought it home, and read that its manual defrost. he thinks she didnt realize t hat. and just assumed that it broke. im sooo excited. i get an upright deep freezer for nothing. i still have my chest in the other trailer if i want to use it..but i want to try this one. its nice, and looks great. hed only get the scrap price for it..wich is like 30 so i got a free deep freeze.

good things always make my day..

hope everyone else has a good day too.

Leighann..you will be fine..just put it in the Lord's hands..I can honestly say I know how you feel because I was laid off after 27 yrs..with no benefits, pension, etc...and since I have been a widow since l972..I was and am the sole breadwinner in my house...I know I got through by putting it in God's hands and I kept telling myself it could be worse and I had a lot to be thankful for..Hang in there it be ok..there is an old saying that when "one door closes, two more will open".

Ericka..do you have a restaurant equipment supply company near you..the company I worked for always had old equipment to junk.we had scrap dealers that came by regularly to see what we wanted to get rid of..they were so glad to give it away just to make room for operational pieces..he might want to check it out.

As for me ....I worked today and that put money in my wallet instead of taking it out....so that was a good thing..

take care...
