Mom2-4 - Oooh ya, that lady abused your child - tell the police child abuse!

I don't remember who asked about the chestnuts? I have horse chestnuts, but even though the shells are really pretty at first, they kind of start shriveling up, I'm not sure if other types of chestnuts do this or not. There shells don't seem to be as hard as say a walnut.

Ds had a dentist appointment about 30 min from home, so dh and dd came to and on the way home we stopped at a McDonalds we hadn't been to before. They had a great play area, and we had 50 cent cones. Afterwards we went over to this tree that has a well in it (fake tree) and filled our water bottles. There were ducks by the stream, and people were feeding them, the kids had a great time watching the ducks, and we even saw some muskrats! We had a beautiful drive home by the mountains, and the leaves were gorgeous!

Apple butter sounds good, I wonder if I can find some free apples? Lots of people don't bother picking their trees around here.

Mom 2-4, ask the police to look at her car with you, and take pictures. I would think that there would be some kind of evidence on the front, a scratch or something to show her stupidity. All the time there are ads on t.v. here about lawyers who take accident cases. I think I would find a reputable lawyer who would prove her stupidity. Didn't she admit that she wanted to "teach him a lesson?" That would tell me that she hit him and not that he ran into the side of the car. Sounds like she doesn't have a whole lot of money to be getting much out of her, but maybe it will teach her a lesson to be more careful and get insurance. I can't imagine why they aren't siting her for not having insurance. I believe that in the state of Utah, you have to have it, because if you get in an accident and you don't, you can get into a lot of trouble.
Good luck.

Karen,
I agree with Momofjems, there has to some kind of charges found against her. I would think it is illegal everywhere not to have insurance, and to be driving without a license huh, how could they not find fault?

Today I am doing a big grocery shop which I hope turns out to be fairly frugal but I need to stock up wheather its on sale or not the pantry is looking like Mother Hubbards cupboard! My dh found out from work where there is a Walmart Super Center, its not around the corner but I want to check it out as its not that far either! I also need to hit Aldis so I have to check in the phone book to see if I can find one near Walmart.

Mks thanks for the Snapfish website, I will be checking that out as I have a ton of pictures on CD I would like to have printed.

Dh just made us a homemade egg mcmuffin yummmy guess I better run, have a good Saturday all!

I used to use York years ago. Can't recall seeing their envelopes recently and don't know where to get them either.
Happypuppy- I have a collection of them from years ago. They didn't (at that time) have any sort of expiration date. Alot of the ones I have are specials ...like...1 copy of std. size prints for 99 cents. I still see them inserted in newspapers....usually sunday edition. Also see them regularly in the ValuPak mailers, although cheap, not still @ 99 cents!

Well, I got a bunch of rolls made, so I froze some, my hamburger buns are rising, I need to put them in the oven. I made a batch of carmel corn and a batch of chocolate corn (I decided not to make them into balls), so the kids will have it to snack on for a while.

Thanks Bett,

Will have to look more closely at our Sunday paper. I usually never look at those Value packs anymore, just recycle them, as I seldom found anything of real value to me. I suppose I should start checking those again, too. (Dh will save the Papa John's coupons from them - I'm not as fond of pizza.)

99¢ is a great deal! Too bad we can't get that price anymore.

MKS = I too am emotionally attached to some of the kids clothes and cannot give them away. I still have some of mine from when I was a baby and others. Some my DD wore.

Karen - I too would check out futher on the lady and what she did to your son. Regardless the police should be able to site her for driving without insurance or a drivers license.

I tried to be frugal and use a $3.00 off coupon for my prescription but could not as I had insurance. So the insurance got billed a whopping .39 cents and I had to pay $10.00 instead of $7.39.

Photo Developing

I, too, use York Photo Labs--for standard film developing. They're cheap, quick and easy! For double prints of a 24 exposure film, with shipping, etc. it costs me $5.20. And they send you prepaid postage envelopes to send in with your next order.

Their film is very resonably priced too--and they will give credit for pics that are undevelopable, etc.

Their website is: yorkphoto.com. They also have digital processing, online, etc.

Their main address appears to be:

York Photo Labs
P.O. Box 3640
Hampton Park, MD 20791

I'm sure you'd get a response if you wrote them.

I've had good luck (and frugal prices) with them!

Today's frugaldoings..........I stopped @ a house where someone had THROWN OUT a full-size wheelbarrow, and a garden wheelbarrow type tool caddy, etc......was going to take them, and some guy (I guess) had beaten me to them. He came outta nowhere, with a story about buying all of the items. (There was no one in sight).......anyway, I did get one of those racks you attach to your car, to carry your bike, and a huge, heavyduty litterbox.
Around the corner from this place, was a yard with beautiful variegated philodendren growing up one of their palm trees. I knocked on their door to see if I could have a cutting, and they said to take a few, cause they were going to trim it back anyway.
This should grow fast, and be really pretty when it gets going. I ended up with 12 plants, after separating those cuttings!

Crockpot Baked Beans Recipe on WFD Thread

Someone asked me a couple of months ago that if I should find a great crockpot baked bean recipe to please post the results. In case that person was on this thread, I wanted to let you know I found a great recipe! My results were perfect. Posted it on page 64 of the "September - What's For Dinner" thread.

Enjoy!

The only thing frugal for today (this weekend really) is my staying home (for health reasons), clipping coupons, shopping & cooking from our pantry & freezer.

Oh, and reading/saving all your great frugal ideas!
