I went and got the .67 Pepsi 2-liter's...got one for my neighbor. I then got these already decorated tissue boxes, plastic ones for .25 cents. Now, if I sale stuff, I can fill them with the tissue boxes from the dollar store and sell them for $3 and up! I'm gonna hold onto them for now.
Well, unfrugally, I bought 2 burritoes for $2.50 each from this Mexican food stand next to this Mexican restaurant. They were huge and good...he put a whole chile pepper in mine and I ended up wasting gas and .25 cents for a pop-(that's still frugal)-rushing to get a pop so I wouldn't hiccup to death from the heat!!!
I'm through shopping for this week. Next week is a whole nother story!!!

Happypuppy & anyone else
Have you or anyone else used York film processing co? You send off your film in their envelope, postage pd, amt of developing is very reasonable, $1.95 for roll of 26, postage to have prints sent to me is also cheap... Just a thought, as they also do CD's for photos.
Now , has anyone ever done this before.??..Our water is well water, we use a softner, but still it tastes nasty. Today I am trying something different. as I am tired of taking the 5 gallon jugs into town to refill...I am boiling some water, will let it cool and try to see if it will be drinkable ? Rural water is being installed in our area, but am sure we will be old and feable before it reaches us. Not only that when we are too weak to lift the 5 gallon jugs up to the cooler, what then?
Found bananas at Albertson's for 19 cents a #, so bought a big bunch , if they ripen too soon, will make banana bread or muffins.
Also OSI....I am really enjoying the tunes on that oldie radio, just thought I'd toss that in.
Next weekend I am doing a flea market in a town 180 miles to the east of us, also a rodeo is being held in the same area as the flea market so should be a good draw. I have 34 boxes priced/boxed , so am just about ready. Wish me luck, as this is the first time I have been a vendor at this sale. It's an indoor sale held at a huge fair grounds.
Have a great weekend gals
Joy:p

Eckerd's accepts anyones c/o's for anything...I've taken my York envelope in there, and they honored the price!

Was not aware that stores would honor York offers, that is great, but wouldn't work for me, as we live 60 miles from the nearest town which develops photos, also I am unable to return back with in a few days to pick them up, so sending off to York works for me.

Joy,
I used to use York years ago. Can't recall seeing their envelopes recently and don't know where to get them either. Thanks for reminding me about them. What I really want to do is get a digital camera. Have not had time to research which one, if any, will work with Windows 95.

We are very fortunate here (glad we moved). Our well water is wonderful straight from the ground. We do want to get a whole-house water FILTER though, to prevent iron deposits on the sinks, showers, etc. Perhaps all you need is a filter? I do not believe a water softener does much to improve the taste. I believe it just softens the water so soap will lather (we had very hard well water and so-so city water at our old home). Maybe someone else knows better than I do what a softener actually does for the water. Wish I could help more.
Even "town" water has a bad taste as it is treated, and you can taste the chlorine in it! And, to make matters even worse for us ours even has a "fishy" smell. YUCK!!!
I have relatives that live in Montana,(Billings) when I was 7 years old I was fortunate to be able to take a family trip there. As I can recall their water had a "sulfur" smell to it. I even screamed when it was time to take a bath because I could not like the smell of it. Does your water have the "sulfur" smell?
I have used York photo I love that, I always forget to pick up my pictures, or lose the stupid little slip they give you, then it is more of a hassle to pick pictures up. I like the idea of using York, as it is like getting a good letter in the mail, because sometimes I forget that I sent the film off to be developed!
Lately, I have been very frugal, but not very unfrugal.
I am so wrapped up in taking care of my son. Then oldest DD had a bad cold, that was somehow passed to DH, who passed it to youngest DD. I really hope it skips DS, and middle DD, and myself.
Here is just a little update about DS, he had his second surgery for his arm on Thursday. The Orthopedic Specialist is ready for him to start trying to move it soon. I could not believe it would be that soon. When I took DS, to the hospital for his surgery, he would not come along into the hospital with me.
A nurse went out to try to talk to him, he litterally walked away from her. I called his Grandpa(my father), and he tried to talk him into it, but still would not budge. Finally, they called one of the nurses from peds, that was one of his nurses while he was in the hospital. She actually talked him in to going in. She cut a deal with him, that they would not put the IV in him until he was under anesthesia. So he is quickly on the way to recovery.
Also, just wanted to add that the lady that hit him was not only not insured, but also does not have a drivers liscence!!! And there is not a thing the cops can do (so they say) because it was on private property!!!
All the kids are saying that they "collided" in the front, each. But, she is trying to say that my DS, hit the side of her car. I am so angry right now!!!!!

When I was young, I always said I wanted to be someone...I guess I should have been more specific!
Oh, yea, I wanted to mention, that someone (I think Jayne) mentioned about the T-shirt being sewn and used as a clothespin holder. My mom did that with a very pretty little girls dress, and uses it as a grocery bag holder. It holds a lot of bags and looks really cute hanging up, at her house. One of the sleeves is left open and that is where the bags are pulled out from.

A little dress is an adorable idea for a bag holder. I bet a cute boys out fit would do also. That might be a good idea for me because I am emotionally attached to many of my son's baby clothes. I couldn't dream of giving them away.
Also, I use snapfish.com for many of the same reasons. It it too far to take film in & go back to pick it up. One day after they receive the film it is available to view on line & up to about 26 or 27 pics is $4.98 for single & $6.97 for double prints. They keep your photos online as long as you have sent in about 1 roll a year. You can also upload digital pics & get prints.
mom 2-4, If someone broke into your house & stole your tv that would be on private property & the police would be able to "do something" about it. Maybe you should talk to a higher up at the police dept. Maybe they can't give her a ticket for driving (on private property) without a liscense, but there is that small matter of bodily injury to a child, reckless endangerment. Something!

MKS, I made a Memory Quilt out of my daughter's baby's clothes. It's not perfect, but it has the pillow case from the hospital-(my mom brought it with us when we left the hospital, don't ask why), dd's father's robe, her cloth diapers, bibs and even cloth mobile...
I also did another one that was made out of the clothes from age 1 on up to 3. I cleaned out my closest and it's the warmest thing ever! Dd sleeps with it every night and we snuggle under it when it's cold. It's useful and memorable...
