Question Question

Has anyone ever used shampoo concentrate? I found a wonderful craft store this weekend that sells both shampoo and conditioner concentrate but there were no instructions for mixing on the bottle. Has anyone ever tried this?

Emmajean,
Glad everything turned out okay with your house. Talk about having your heart in your throat!
Anna,
I have bought a pack of good washclothes at Walmart for 3.00 or maybe 4.00 cant remember anyway it is a pack of 18! I use them for ds and daycare kids everyone has their own color! With that we waste no napkins or papertowels I take ds "Mr.Rag" when we travel out of the house as he asks for it no matter where as he hates sticky fingers! Also I have never heard of concentrate shampoo or conditioner. I find with coupons I can get it pretty cheap oh and waiting for sales.
Carol,
That is cool that you can pick up the onions like that!
Leasmom,
I too thought that article was funny when I read my dollar stretcher! My dh always asks before buying stuff from the grocery store if we have a coupon or is it on sale, finaly my training is sinking in with him.

I THINK someone on here mentioned buyin dish cloths so I wanted to tell you about some my m-i-l makes. She crochets them and I LVOE thse things! They last forever and aren't wimpy like the ones in the stores. I can bleach them if necessary and they hold up great. If you crochet or know somoeone who does I highly recommend you try these. I doubt you'd go back to the store bought kind.

Jayne

BTW, I will admit not everyone likes them. My middle dd doesn't care for them but she's a minority.

Crochet Dishcloths

Jayne-

What kind of material is she using to crochet them with? I wouldn't think regular yarn would work well?

shampoo/conditioner- This stuff was like $2.00 a tub, you mix it with water and fragrance oils. It looks like it would make a huge amount and you could scent it. I'm thinking it might make a nice gift basket theme for Christmas with some left over? I too use coupons for this stuff and have tons left from a cpl. years ago. This is more of a 'craft fun" type thing. They also had concentrated lotions.

Anna,
The lotion concerntrate would be cool for a gift basket! Shampoo one to sort of like customized products. Guess I would not have thought to do that, hope I didnt offend you!

Anna--I know nothing about yarns and weights but I can tell you they are thick so she must use a fairly heavy yarn. I'll e-mail and ask her. We just spoke to her on the phone last nihgt so won't be calling again for a while (dh doesn't keep in real close contact) so give me a few days on e-mail. I never know how often she'll check hers.

Jayne - I buy those crocheted dish clothes at our local senior center, but I give them to my mom. I'm like your daughter, I don't like them. I know they have patterns for them for knitting or crocheting.

I think we'll go onion hunting after school today since we don't have any ballet, piano or football.

My dh bought me a big thing of yeast, hot chocolate and sliced cheese at Costco yesterday. He's so good, those were the three things I wanted, and that's all he bought, me, I always allow myself one extra, so we saved money by him going. I was feeling kind of down not having any yeast! lol Kind of funny to be down about that! lol

Good morning everyone. Well I am all better had my little break down. Dried my eyes and blew my nose and went on with unpacking. My Back yard which never looked great to begin with is now black in places. Oh well. I think my break down upset the kids more then the fire did. They thought it was cool. I don't think I will ever get it all unpacked.
I lost my grocery list in the move. So I have to start another. I have been real good about the once a month shopping. But I must say I miss going to Wal-mart.
Have a good day all.

Frugal thing for today...

Went to Walgreens to get their dishwashing liquid on sale but found the bottles were the tiniest ones I'd ever seen-12.6 oz, so instead I opted to buy a much larger 25 oz bottle of off brand kind for a penny more!

Today is my not so frugal day as it is dd's last day at her Spirited Kids group on the other side of town. Glad that I won't have to waste gas for a 35 minute meeting! Then it's dd's cheerleading lesson. I found out that they wanted the parents just to drop off the kids...well it's only 45 minutes and by the time I drive back home it's time to go get her so I think I'll just listen to the radio and read my new ABC catalog.

Speaking of ABC Catalog, I just was on their site and ordered a few things, more to check off on the xmas list! Now to be really frugal I have to figure where do I stop with the shopping for DS? Do most of you have a money limit or # of gifts limit? This is the first year I can say we are actually buying him stuff. Last year he had so much from aunts and grandparents he didnt notice plus he was just to young. I was thinking maybe 150.00? Is that outrageous? I dont know!!! I just know I want to get it done now so that I can avoid the xmas shopping when the malls and walmart are unbearable! Last year I did do a bit of day after Thanksgiving shopping but only things that were awsome deals!
