Anna,

You are one busy Lady! Do you ever take a break?

Has anyone heard from joesbaby?

I was going to dry the rose petals from my Anniversary bouquet but they didn't smell so I hung them up to dry.

Today I will be packing more boxes for storage and garage sale.

Lori Mae-

Funny you should say that... the lady who owns the mall ask me this morning if I ever get any sleep. I read somewhere there's a thin line between crafting and insanity... wonder if I'm crossing over:p

We don't have children so that frees up alot of time and I am surrounded by crafters so we keep each other motivated and share ideas and things we see at craft shows.. it's alot of fun.

Oh I forgot frugal today was hanging another load of clothes outside this morning and keeping my fingers crossed that the weatherman is wrong and we're not going to have late afternoon thunderstorms.

Today I have to pack up all my crafting items for storage. I was going to put some in garage sale but I just can't seem to part with the stuff. That's why I have soo much.

Can't wait until we find a place in the country to move to, Then I can have a sewing/crafting room.

I still have a 22 yr old DD at home but she says she's not moving with us if we move to the country. I think she is going to have a rude awakening about living on her own. But I don't know anything I'm just the MOM!

Hey Lori Mae-

Just dawned on me you are in Portland. The Vegetarian magazine I get says theres going to be a Vegetarian convention like trade show with lots of samples and coupons. We aren't vegetarian but have reduced our meat intake to about 1/3 of what we used to eat.

I already found my place in the country to move too. But, it is money that is keeping us from going!! The house and surroundings are perfect. Four bedrooms, fixed up basement with a rec room, big back yard, dog shed(yes shed not house) three car gargage with other out buildings. Fireplace and wood stove. With a stash of wood already cut and stacked. Woods border the back yard. And to top it off it is only about a block away from where I grew up!!

I know I know I am in the country now, but maybe I should say my place in the sticks!! That is not in a trailer park!!

Well, I bought a pot roast on sale yesterday ($1.79/lb), and today I'm trying the 'cola' roast in the crockpot recipe. I started it this morning, and I'll shred -- add veggies -- and turn it into beef stew; that'll stretch farther than a roast alone.

The kids and I are going nowhere today.

I'm working on my shopping list for our monthly trip to nearby towns. Don't want to pay local price for things like cream cheese; get it at Super Wal Mart this weekend and stock up for the month.

Renewed all my library books online.

Used 'free' cell phone minutes to return a call. Only talked 2 minutes.

I guess that's about all.

Welcom Jora to the frugal corner of Family corner. We love new members here.

Be sure to share all your frugal tips, we are always looking for new adventures in frugalness!!

Do you always shop just once a month? I would love to be organized enough to do that.

This is the second time I heard of the cola roast, now I need to know how do you do a cola roast?

Lori Mae-

I'm sure it did... the magazine is at home, will bring it in tommorow and hopefully remember why I brought it in.

Jora-

Welcome to the frugal living site and thanks for joining in... we can all use new tips and ideas for living a more frugal life.

Cola Roast-

I think leasmom made that recently perhaps she'll share it with us when she comes on board.

We're getting ready for our big sales convention here at work today, our reps are coming in from all over the US, Canada, Paris and Switzerland so it's a busy time here today and tommorow... thank goodness we only host this 1 time every 5 years.

Anna

Hi Jora! Welcome to Family Corner

Not much frugal happening here. Luke is sick today and with the heat & humidity I turned on the AC. I figured it was better since he is running a fever. I am trying to keep it as low as possible & still be comfortable so it's set on 74 and the ceiling fans are all spinning. Once the sun comes around to the front of the house I will close the drapes in the family room, where the thermostat is. Does anyone else have any good ideas about using the AC in a frugal way? Personally I am not a big fan of AC and when DH is running around here cranking the AC down to 65 I am putting on jeans and flannel shirts! Why is it that husbands and wives never have the same internal thermostats?

DS says it's hot in school; I'll bet it is. His classroom is on the 3rd floor. The principal said that they may unbutton the top buttons on their golf shirts. OOOO! Bet THAT makes a big difference. Oh well....this heat is unusual at this time of year. I only hope the weather is half this good next week for the school carnival (a frugal nightmare!) since it makes a good amount of operating money for the school! Last year it was rained out one night and chilly the whole rest of the week. Not good for money-making.

I'll be trying a new recipe tonight using my roaster oven instead of the stove. It throws a lot less heat than the regular oven, so I won't have to heat the oven and then cool the house. That's part of the reason I invested in the roaster oven.
