Where is everybody today? Its been a little quiet here compared to yesterday.

Not much frugal to report here. Been working on my rag rugs, now have 2 finished 3 counting the one we kept for our house, and one that is 1 tshirt away from being done. Gosh, those tshirt ones are heavy!

Frugal dinner tonight is: homemade chicken tacos, cooked the chicken in the microwave this morning (just breast). So now all I have to do is chop lettuce and heat the shells, and dinner is done.

Oh btw Leighann-
I should have mentioned yesterday: that clothesline thing we have, it doesn't have a very sturdy post thing. David used a extra fence post, poured cement set the post and then put the clothesline thingy in that, so now it's nice and sturdy. Also, for some reason the clothesline itself didn't want to stay "taut" so dh rigged it with fishing line, so now it doesn't fold but nor does it flop down. I love it but he did have to work on it a bit.

Wow it is really quiet today.

I hung wash out to dry. and made supper in the crock pot again. It was not nearly as hot here today as it was yesterday.

Tomorrow it is supopsed to shower. So I will not be hanging wash to dry.

I also made a menu for next week, and a shopping list. I guess I can include that as frugal, although that is something that I try to do every week.

DD played on her swingset, so at least I don't have to drive to the park like Barb had mentioned.

Leasmom, I hope your DD recovers quickly!

Ericka, I hope everything works out ok for you and Joe.

Osi, I agree the rotary dryers are not very sturdy, mine is different than yours though mine only has lines on two sides. But, dH, did pour cement in a bucket put the post in the cement, and let dry, then buried the bucket. I just alternate sides when hanging wash so it does not get too heavy on one side.

Today's frugal thing was finding a cute sweatshirt at Walmart, on clearance for $2. They didn't have my size, so I bought a size smaller, hoping my diet will allow me to shrink into it soon. When I got home, I decided to try it on, and Surprise -- It fit!!

For a frugal dinner, I pulled some leftover Easter ham out of the freezer and it's cooking with cabbage, an onion and a splash of apple cider vinigar.

Now, for unfrugal: It looks like we'll be shopping for a new washing machine. The poor old thing has had incontinence for quite a while, but this morning it had a heart attack -- shaking, and banging and pounding, until it finally died. It's not worth fixing anymore. So we'll just let it rest in peace, and go shopping.

I'm thinking of getting a front-loading washer. Does anyone have one? Are they worth the extra money?

I was a bit frugal, by posting on another thread. I made mention, that if anyone is interested in information concerning my "Coupon~Aholic's" Swap Club 2002, just to PM me with their email addy and I will gladly give you all the information...or you could just ask Anna about it. She is member #34 and has been with me since I began in July/2002.

** Note ** There are no monies involved, only frugalness and friendships. We are always welcome to newbies. The more, the merrier. So, if the least bit interested, just drop me a line....

Anna ~ What's your secret? How does one person accomplish all that you do, in just one day? You ought to bottle that information, and sell it!! LOL!

P.S. ~ I'm interested in your rag-rugs. Do you plan on selling any? I love those rugs, over store bought. They last forever!!

Carol-

Yes I am making them to sell. I haven't quite decided yet how much to charge for them. The material isn't so expensive but the time is. Tshirt ones are the hardest, as they don't have that much material... it takes 16 tshirts to make one rug. and you are right, they last forever.

One of my bosses brought in this outdoor mat today, someone decorated it with 3 geese by taking material and going in and out in a pattern. These are those straw mats that have big square holes throughout. Hmmm.... another craft possibility:p

Mom2-4

I've never seen one of those lines with just 2 sides. Mine is supposed to hold 4 loads of laundry but I've never tried that. Dh with the way he set it, and I'm short... I have a hard time reaching the top 4 lines. It is a neat contraption though but I still would've preferred the tbars I think.

Frugal yesterday was hanging my cold water wash out on the porch line...I was surprised at how quickly the sheets dried..it was beautiful yesterday and not humid at all...

Today I will be frugal by not starting my car...and finishing up with the weeding in the front yard...usually do the yard work on Mondays (yard trash is picked up on Tuesdays) but since I worked I didn't get it all done....

When I sent Helena the blanket for her doll baby and she called to thank me she said she would share it with Jonathan...her 21 month old brother..so since I found out he plays with her dolls I am making him one ...should finish it up today....He also likes playing with her jewelry but he is all boy though...plays with cars, trucks and all the boy things also....

that is it ..have a good day...

Good morning girls,
Joesbaby,
Spagetti dinner sounds great. I read your post on how much you had to pay for having baby, I wont complain anymore about it.
Anna,
I still want to check out Lowes to see if they have a rack for clothes like you do but I probaly should just stay frugal and use the 3 lines dh hung for me. They do the job, dh just needs to get another pole so there not stuck together as that what ends up happening if I hang to much up at once!
Today is Bobs birthday and we get to go to dinner without the kids He still hasnt told me where he wants to go!
Anna,
Have you and the dh checked out Crab Shack Joes yet? I did some xtra babysitting to pay for so I think thats frugal! I was going to make him a cake however he made brownies the other night and were going to have cake on Saturday so decided against it only because I am trying to lose weight, I know thats rude of me but darn I have problems resisting cake lol! I will be sure to tell the waitress where ever we go so maybe we will get a desert that will be plenty!

Carol,
Evan is 110% boy also, I had a doll around that he never touched but once Josh came along he started wrapping it up in a blanket and taking care of it just like I do Josh. He even named her Josh! lol He is so sweet to the doll! The funniest thing was he even copied me nursing that was so funny...Lucky he only did that one time! I dont think there is anything wrong with boys playing with dolls maybe it teaches them compassion!

Leighann-

No we haven't checked out Joe's Crab Shack yet. My co workers gave it a poor rating. said the service was slow and prices too high.

Boys and Dolls-

I think it teaches them to be more loving. They used to have boy dolls years ago... 60's & 70's.

lee....i wasnt trying to tell you not to complain...im sorry if you thougth that. my delivery was also for a 33 week preemie too. there was a bit of stuff not coverd by our medical card. some tests and some meds, plus her being kept in the hospital, they didnt pay for my staying there, or my meals. and then she got sick again just after birth, and needed more tests, and stuff like that. it was a mess..but i got it taken care of, finally. lol. now i tell her shes all mine....i paid her off..like a layaway.lol. she thinks thats cute.

my son also had a stuffed doll baby he liked to play with. he still plays dolls with his sisters if they beg him long enough..altho hes also at that stage where he pullls the heads off barbies just to hear his sister cry. but thats them...he fixes them for her then...

my frugal today...not much. altho i did do a cool thing. im getting my things ready for our camper, to get it set for this year. so i was thinking...i need matches..and i always get the box smashed..mattches every where. when i took des to the dr the last time, they had big egg shaped pill holders to give out..and the dr gave her 2 to play with. i took my matches, and put a handful in there, then tore off some of the striker, they fit perfactly. so i saved money that way...but they also fit in a plastic easter egg. so im gonna put 3 or 4 of them filled in my kitchen in the camper. they are alot easier to keep track of than the little lighter....lol. so thats all i did to day so far...

everyone have a good day...

btw...does anyone have any good camping links...or sites..for camping with kids, or horses...in a camper.
