Anna, I'm betting the plexiglas would be less expensive than a plastic cutting board.

I found one of my old Reader's Digest books on simple living and the have instructions for braided rag rugs, crochet is much simpiler.

I have some mill ends from Pendleton Woolen mills that I'm going to crochet into some rugs (someday!).

I'm such a procrastinator. LOL

anna its great you dont have to have any surgery.

all i did today was mow my yard with my moms rider. i had to get my bil flat bed trailer since it wont fit in moms truck. she also gave me a bunch of cookbooks to sell on ebay or keep if i wanted. other than that, we went to the grocery store. thats all we did.

everyone have a good day.

Joesbaby, I think we've got alot in common

You're's is just like what I like too! I like wood, water, trees/mountains, animals...landscape scenes.

Sorry I posted so late, I was painting my mom's mother's day gift. I can only paint landscapes and that's what I like in photo's too. My style is...folk art so it's a representation of the landscape...I painted a scene of a old country church in Appalachia in the mountains with a couple of trees and the preacher's cabin next to it. I also painted a bench and banjo. My mom should like it.

I'm beat, it literally takes me hours just to paint one tiny painting so I'm swamped.

Goodnite everyone!!!

You are all so talented...photographers, artists...I have a problem drawing a straight line with a ruler...
But I do knit (for the most part my own designs) and crochet..I have a lot of material..and should learn how to do the rag rugs...Years ago I had a gadget with nails on it that you overlaped the yarn on and it braided the yarn somehow and then you sewed it together in the shape you wanted..Wish I could remember exactly how it worked..I would make myself one....anyone remember seeing anything like that?

Frugal ...am staying home and blessing this dusty house...and decluttering my kitchen counters..making room in a closet for all the "machines" I still use and don't want to get rid of...

Last night, I boiled a dozen eggs, sat my 2-year old up to the table, and pulled out the egg coloring kit I had bought several weeks ago (who knows where?). Anyway, the colors were missing from the box! AAAAArrrggghhhhhhhh.....

I found some Easter stickers that I had intended to put in Ethan's basket, and some markers, and we did our own decorating.

Some of my Easter/Birthday party guests will start arriving today, so I better get some extra bedding washed. I have no clue how many will be here for dinner tonight, or what we will eat. Guess I'll pop over to the What's for Dinner thread and see if I can get inspired.

shocking It's snowing in Crazy Colorado!

I got rid of all my winter stuff, my jackets etc. Dd still has two jackets left, I only have this big shirt I've been wearing as a jacket.

Oh well...dd had a surprised to us birthday party she was invited too yesterday so we went and got the girl a gift, a card, and a bag. The gift was a $1, the card was .50 cents and the bag was $1.50 at a store similiar to the dollar store.

I need help with how to package my painting for my mom. It's acrylic and I cheaply sprayed it with hair spray, I was told along time ago that hair spray worked just as well as the expensive coating sprays, but I don't know...

I want to wrap it up and then put it into something water proof and then wrap it again to be shipped. This is gonna sound funny, but I was thinking of using Wax Paper to wrap it so that the painting can't rub off, then to put it into a oven turkey bag and then wrap with brown paper. Does that sound like that would work?

P.S. All of your Easter things sound so good. Dd and I are Buddhist so we don't celebrate Easter. Do share all of your stories tomorrow though!!!

patrice..it sounds to me like it would work.sounds pretty ingenius to me really. i think its a great idea.

jrztomato i dont think im very talented..i just like to take pictures. id love to crocet, or quilt, i cant do things like that at all. im not very...crafty..really. but i do have an eye for a picture. so i do that alot. thats alot from my mom. she took a colleg class and got me intersted in that. so when i got a nicer digital camera, i love to take the shot and work on it on the computer.

vicki..i have had that happen too. did you know that the color for eggs is just food color in a pill form?? you can do the same thing with a few drops of food color and a cup of hot water and some vinager?? its pretty easy. i think it takes about 1/4 cup of vinager and just some regular food color. thats how ive done it a few times.

well nothing frugal today. im gonna try to get caught up on things around here ..but i dont know if i will be able to or not. joes kind fo angry i dont want to do all the same running hes always doing with me. i dont think i should have to give up the things i plan to do because hes wanting to do things. im glad hes home and getting better, but ever since hes been home, its all been running, or hes had me in here with him and i cant get anything done. im behind in everything. and its making me crazy. i finally told him today just go. ill stay home and he can do anything he wants to. if i need to go somewhere..ill take his car. i can drive a stick, right now he cant. but my bravada is an automatic and he can take it.but hes mad at me now. and i dotn think thats fair. i only want to get caught up on things i used to keep on top of befor he got hurt.

talk at you all later..im off to do somehouse cleaning.

Being a photographer is being creative!

It takes a special eye and you've got that eye, Joesbaby. That picture you have would be exactly what I would like to buy, from a different angle, it sets it up uniquely and captures you're attention. That's creative!!!

Tips from a magazine borrowed at library of course!

To prevent embarrassing bad breath, bring two cups of water to a boil, add a couple broken cinnamon sticks and simmer for 5 minutes. Cool, strain the liquid into an empty water bottle and keep it by your bathroom sink for a natural and tasty mouthwash. The cinnamic aldehyde that gives teh popular spice its distinctive flavor also destroys odor-causing oral bacteria, nixing any worries about close up contact.
Money saved (according to them) $7.00 per bottle of mouthwash (I would never pay 7.00 but I suppose there are those who would)!

Nothing much frugal here today, just the usual laundry in cold...Although today is day 2 of potty training for Evan, so I wont be buying diapers for him anymore! So far so good....At least as my gram would say I believe we have #1 down, had a bad incedent with #2 hope that gets better real soon! lol

Leighann-

Welcome back, we've missed you this week. That's interesting about the mouthwash, seems like I read somewhere in Tightwad Gazette a recipe similiar but then couldn't find it again.. Grrr...!

Joesbaby-

That is a beautiful picture shot, we are all so blessed to live in such a beautiful country. I understand your situation as I'm sure most of us do with Joe. Men just don't get it, that we want time alone.

Well I guess that's all for now. Take care everyone and have a good easter.

Anna
