Songberries-

Good job on the veggie buy... those will come in so handy this winter. I used to do that alot when we ate canned veggies, in fact I still have some left over from over a year ago. Ya never know when you may need to resort to canned stuff in a power failure. Good for side dishes and great for a quick veggie soup!

leighann- we'll try to share some of our sunshine with you this weekend, otherwise you'll have to come up tommorow for the Ohio State Buckeyes game, it's at noon. I will be trying to get errands done away from OSU major traffic jams !!! I don't know about you but I am sick to death of hearing about Maurice Clarett!!!

Well ladies, off to my favorite restaurant for dinner here in a few minutes. Have a very frugal weekend, save money and time and we'll see ya on Monday.

Anna

its been a longgggggg week....

i was really bad this week. see....joe bought me another car. my "old" grand am a 91, has almost 200000 on it. sooo he got me a "new" to me..92 caviler. ok...i hate it. im sorry..its a nice car and all..rides really nice and gets good milage. but..its a 5 sp, and has no ac or cruise. i have thoes in my grand am. and i miss them. anyway..it cost him 500 for the car. it has 137000 on it and is black with red stripes. today..i bought new seat covers, a funky licence plate, and black paint fix wax to make it look better, new windshild wipers, and i have to go back and get new wheel covers too. so far..cost..over 100.
hes gonna flip when he sees how much i spent. i even got a little sticker for my window that says spoiled. he told me for xmas hes gonna get me a cling for the whole top windshild that says.." my husband spoils me" and he does.

i still havent gotten my palm pilot yet. and i have a bunch of bills coming due on wends to pay with his check.

also..they have a consignment auction where you can take your cars to and i think we may do that to get the money to move our trailer so that is at least an option.

well have a good weekend everyone.
ericka

ps thanks for missing me..and noticeing i was gone.

Homemade Fish Food

*********

I know this sounds strange, but I made my own fish food.
I have wanted to try it, and it turned out pretty good. Only problem with it, is that it takes a while for it to soften up in the water. They seem to like it, though!

WOW, made your own fish food! Unbelievable!

I didnt know you could even do that!

While I went to pick up the 3 for $1 biscuits for the cup meals, I got a good look at the Bulk offerings they had there at the Grocery Warehouse. They had bulk Nestle Quik mix for $7.99. They had bulk Pace Salsa for $8.99-the Salsa had 177 servings. As much Mexican food we've been eating lately, that'll come in handy, I can freeze the rest. They had bulk Pineapples for $3.99 and they had bulk apples for $5.99.

Sunday I'm going grocery shopping. They have a wonderful sale on at the Grocery Warehouse on items that you actually use. They have a 10 for $10 deal! They have the sale on everything from country ribs and those ground beef rolls to eggs, cheese and veggies. All kinds of brand name items, so I can't wait! My sister wants me to get her some things so I will and she'll pay me back! I can't wait to go!

Tomorrow I'll be busy taking dd to her first FREE tae kwan doe lesson. She'll have 3 more before we pull out-LOL!! She has her first Cheerleading lesson for $25 on Tuesday, so paying for one lesson is good enough!

Fish food was pretty easy, but am still gonna play with the recipe a little....

Just put some dog or cat food (dry) in the blender, and powderize it. Then I added some kelp powder, oatmeal, 1 small packet of unflavored gelatine, 1/2 can of peas, 1/2 can of spinach, 5 shrimp (Boiled) and some of the water that the shrimp boiled in, to make it really thin.

Pour it into a glass 9 x 13 dish (glass worked better than a cookie sheet for me) and put in in a 200 degree oven for about 45 minutes. It dries out, and begins to crack. Let it cool, scrape out with a spatula, and store in any container. I re-used my old fish food container.

You can also freeze-dry this...but it took too long for me to do it that way.

My hands are burning!

It took me several hours to peel all of those green chiles. Trust me this will be the only time I do this, never again! I wish I knew I needed gloves-LOL!!! OUCH, OUCH!!!

I am so wiped out from that. I chopped them up, have them in a bag. I made the cantalupe jelly, hoping it would become jelly instead of sauce-LOL! Either way, it's okay to me...I cut up chicken and am marinated some for tomorrows dinner and cooked a few chicken strips for the cup meals. Going to through some salsa chicken cup meals in and some plain nacho cheese ones.

Now to deal with the closet. Dd wants some videos out of this box in the closest, I need to finally put them up so I really will have to do it today.

Leasmom - ooh, your poor hands! Ouch! I hope you can find something to keep them from hurting! It sounds like you were really busy today. Let me know how your jelly sets up!

I just poured alcohol on them twice

to remove the capesisin or whatever that makes it burn to the touch! It is now stop burning, just a tiny bit of burn when I type-LOL!!!

Looks like it's a sauce...oh well! It'll go good with the Sour Cream Pound Cake, as soon as I can get to it! So, no waste!

Dd just made something I thought I'd share! I posted on the Lunchbox thread about my dd not liking regular milk and that I got a freebie for Vanilla flavored Nestle Quik. Well, I didn't have any left cause I used it in dd's thermos, so she said...I've got it. And she said, put vanilla in the milk! So, I took vanilla extract put it in with sugar and wha-lah-Vanilla Milk! I even poured me a glass! I will be doing that again to get dd to drink her milk and hey, she just saved me about $4!!!
