Thanks. I really had to think on that one. My mom before she got her LPA (Licensed Practical Nurse), was back then called a Nurses Aid and you didn't have to go through all the training, background checks, etc. that you do now days. Here in Ohio they pay really good money for anyone in the nursing field and it looks like that is going to be the wave of the future, as our population ages.

Leasmom,
Great deal on the food yesterday! I am right now considering my family lucky as our family plan is only 120 a month. Even though we still have to pay some expenses the majority is covered. My dh is a hemophiliac so has many expensive medical issues now and then. We sure would be in a big poor house without insurance! Not doing anything today so that is pretty frugal. I never got around to making my tomato pizza yesterday as one of my girlfriends was on vacation from her job so her and her dd came over and we were talking, took the kids for a walk next thing I knew it was 5:30 and I hadnt yet started even the dough so ended up doing BFD which was good and cheap! Basically we had grand slams! Dh has inventory today so is getting free lunch and dinner but god knows when he will be home, good thing Evan loves pizza! Jayne just wanted to let you know I have clicked on a couple of times for your story. Congrads!

I've noticed that Happy Puppy isn't around this week so PM'd her to check on her. I wanted to post her response in case anyone else was concerned too. :p

My frugalness so far today:
1. Brought lunch
2. Did laundry last night, hung inside and this am (6:00-I know crazy huh :p ) hung blanket outside on clothesline to dry before heading off to work. We are supposed to have 5 days of sunshine . Today is a picture perfect day. Breezy and sunny, temps. around 70. Fall is coming ladies.
Oh also, did comparison shopping on one of dh's meds that we've been getting at local pharmacy vs. our mail order. Doing mail order will save us $64.00 a year-YIKES! wish I would've checked sooner.

I decluttered my computer desk...it still has too much papers. Going to do the dreaded downstairs closest and go through our winter stuff to see what fits. I need to know if I have to buy dd a new jacket for winter or not.
Woke up this morning at 4:00 a.m. freezing! Dd looked like a frozen popsicle in her bedroom. I had all the windows open and it was so cold! I closed all of them, had to use a hammer and screw driver to do two windows in the dining room that must've swelled from the heat. Closed them-it's still cold in here! Outside it is 82, it feels like 52 inside! I need to find out how much a deposit is for turning on the gas. I hate to turn it on when it doesn't get cold outside until January or something, like I did when I first moved to Tennessee. So, we may just have to start wearing long sleeves inside on days like this.
They have a 3 day sale at Kmart with a hand mixer for $7. I need another phone cause I'm tired of being tethered to the wall and that's on sale for $13. Not sure if I want to buy them both or just wait. My hands mix well enough but sometimes a hand mixer would be nice for things like pies and stiff cakes.
My order from ABC came and I couldn't cancel one of them in time so I have to send it back...it's about $15 or less, I hope to send it. I may do that either today or tomorrow. But, when the other two boxes come, I'm just gonna deny them. I love the one hot wheels one for my nephew though...it's perfect. So, one christmas gift down...4 more kids to go!!! I'm trying to do big gifts for my 3 nieces/1 nephew and 1 big gift for dd and a few smaller ones. My goal is to have it done by the middle of October!
So, besides decluttering, I'm not quite sure what I'm gonna do exactly today. I'll just have to wait and see...
I'll have to view it another 14 times before I find something right for dd. I always do that!
My two nieces-(the ones who aren't being properly taken care of)... we have to be careful what we send them because their mom doesn't even tell them it's from us sometimes...and we don't want to send anything she can use. My sister wants to send something practical, something they can use and my sil can't take back, like clothes. I want something fun for them. I don't even know if they got anything last year for Christmas except the ornaments I sent them. But, they're mother didn't even put up the boxed Christmas tree they had so they had to put it on my sister's best friend's tree...because my sister was just visiting while she waited for her Army husband to be transferred to Colorado. I know my sister gave them stuff too, but I don't know if they're mom did. I'm still trying to figure out what to get them...I'm torn between wanting to give them things like jackets, boots, hats and thermals and things like art supplies for my eldest budding artist niece and a doll for her sister. Decisions, decisions!
My sister's daughter is another one that is hard to shop for, not because she doesn't have but because she has too much! She has alot of toys and my sister is swapping them out with toys she still has in Detroit at her sil-(a different one)'s house. She has more clothes for her daughter that she won't need to buy her much until she's a preteen!!! So, shopping for her is very hard. I bought books for her upcoming birthday...that's all I can think of. She doesn't need anything else...
And, I still can't decide what to get my own dd! She likes Lizzie McGuire and would love her c.d. but I refuse to be tortured by buying that awful thing she calls music!!! Dd doesn't need much either. I always buy her new pants-(she has some to grow into this year)-and new shoes and some toys. I might get her a new bookbag/duffel bag. The bookbag detaches from the duffel bag. She doesn't need a new bookbag but she will need the duffel bag for all her sports starting January.
So, if anyone has any suggestions...let me know. I'd appreciate any help I can get with coming up with ideals!
Gift certificates are always a hit. Blockbuster, McDonalds, Movies, etc. there are so many out there to choose from and you can buy a little at a time. I have this problem already with my 3 yo nephew.... he has tons of clothes and toys so I buy one or two small toys and give money or certificates. I am going with the family fun night theme this year. Gift certificates to Donatos, movie rental certificates and am making both my sisters cookbooks. I bought notebooks and sheet protectors for $12.00 and am copying recipes from the net. I cut paste and print (I also pay for my copy cost at work). I'm also including "kid friendly" recipes that my family can do with my nephews and niece. Also household hints I've picked up for things like homemade fabric softener, etc. money saving hints.
