They had some good deals! I got 6 packs of cooked Turkey breast for .25 cents each! I also got a big bag of Red Chile-OOOH!!! I only brought $4 and I was only going to see what they had and then come back tomorrow with more money. This one lady spent $97. They had alot of taquitos, different varieties from Mexican to Italian. Terikiyi chicken, hot wings, hot pockets, etc. Some were good deals, others were not. Since I started making my own hot pockets, I skipped on that and they had some bagel pizzas that I just made. I liked the burritoes though-.25 cents each. I think I'll get more of those too tomorrow.
They are a restaurant distributing company so they were overstocked. I may go back for the $2 bag of McDonald's chicken nuggets, a few Chilis brand taquitos too. I don't want to spend too much. But, because there is a majority Mexican community here, that was a good deal because there was alot of Mexican foods, alot. I think the only thing I'm really interested in was the .25 cent Boston Market turkey breast that I got, the taquitoes from Chilis, McDonald's chicken nuggets, and maybe the .50 cent cheesecakes. Tomorrow, I'll go back and see what they have...I'm just too cheap, I swear.
I spent a total of $2.50 while other people paid $30 up to $100. Why am I so cheap?
Well, they told me that if you sign up for them to call you back, they have a box once a month for $20-similiar to commodities, only restaurant food, so I'm looking forward to that!
People were cleaning that place out. I sure hope theres something left when I go tomorrow! I still think the .25 cent packs of BOston Market Turkey breast was the best deal there, so even if I don't get anything tomorrow, I'm still happy!!!
That sounds like quite a deal! Wish we had something like that here although I don't eat fast food but sure I could find something we could eat.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Cobra is extremely expensive, I think ours runs around $500-$700 a month depending on if your on the single or family plan. Since my dh and I don't have children, we are on the single plan. We have Quest here in Columbus too. I've heard they are having financial problems, they laid off a bunch of people here about a year ago.

Qwest (yep, it's really spelled with the W) had Arthor Anderson (sp?) for their accounting firm way back when. That kinda tells why they are having financial problems!
We are a family of 6. I hope it's not the $700/mo for us!
Vicki--good luck. I'd be asking why they cancelled it for sure. While dh is on active duty you SHOULD have military health benfits. Be sure to check into that.
I just this morning canned 12 jelly jars and 1 pint jar of corn relish. I ran out of jelly jars and sure didn't want to waste that last pint. I used Splenda to sweeten instead of sugar and from the taste didn't notice a bit of difference. It's YUMMY!
NOW to get to the sweet and sour sauce canning and the hot pockets. I'll finally be done then.

Check with your carrier!!
I had to go to COBRA after a diagnosis of having ahysterectomy, no problems there, made my payments and everything was covered. 5 months later in a BAD car accident, still had coverage, so no problem....
Then I get a letter from the Carrier's office...here in California, not sure if it's the same all over, you can continue coverage, but only for 18 MONTHS!
What a rude awakening I had recently to see my premium jump from $168 to $364! Unfortunately for me I now have existing conditions from 5 surgeries due to the car accident and now looks like Breast Cancer, so I have no choice but to continue coverage so I know I am taken care of!
If you don't have pre-exsisting conditions, check with other carriers, even on-line! There are lots of them out there fighting to get your $$$'s.
I wish you the best on this....it's no fun!
Frugal today? Still canning Tuna! DH brought home close to 60 pounds!
I have canned plain, Asian (Wasabi, fresh ginger and a dash of sesame oil) Jalapeno, and now Garlic.....28 pints in total now...whew...I guess it's a good thing we love seafood in this house!
Been washing the dishes by hand between canning rounds, washing in cold water, etc.
Guess the most frugal thing is the fact that I am home taking care of business, since youngest DS is at first day of school and oldest DS and DH are at woork, so major housework in between!
Hope everyone is having a great day!
Janet

There in lies the rub. He is not on active duty orders. He is an Individual Mobilezation (sp?) Augmentee (again sp?) aka IMA - not to be confused with MIA, even though we feel like he is. Anyway, that is why there is no military coverage. The civilian company says that he is covered (it is supposed to be retroactive to 1 Sept.), but that is not what the paperwork says. I have just gotten off-line with some one at Robbins AFB and they gave me a contact number for a military installation near me (in Toledo). It is for their Family Advocacy Cener.
