Somehow I missed your post...but oooooooh, Carol, I'm going to make mushroom soup for lunch tomorrow using those substitutes! I have light sour cream, mashed potatoes and will have leftover mushrooms & onions from tonight's dinner. Thanks for the great, healthy ideas!

It is 10:28 am and no one has posted today? Wow. That is weird.
Sunday my dh & ds (4 yo) went to dh's company picnic. We had to drive an hour to get there, but it was still frugal because everthing was free. A decent all you can eat bbq meal and all kinds of activities for ds...face painting (dinosaur), pony ride, carnaval games (bean bag toss, ring toss, etc.) big slide, and a play ground. He had a great time, but apparently over did it. He had a fever by the time we got home & kept it 2 1/2 days. He woke up with out it this am & I hope it stays that way. I also got in the mail a rebate I had been waiting for...$10 off at Pizza Hut. So that is where we are eating lunch today to celebrate my bday (which is tomorrow, but dh will be at work & gone from 5am to 9pm)

MKS-

I was thinking the same thing, where is everybody? I've been wandering around in Family corner in the craft section, got a few good tips on doll making, nature gifts, etc. and good links. Not much going on here today, made up a batch of coleslaw from scratch this morning before coming into work, so dh will have it tonight with his dinner. Hung up clothes inside today, wished I'd put them outside it's turned out to be a pretty day after all. Got out winter sweaters from storage and am adding them to laundry as I go instead of washing them up by themselves as a load.

Still haven't used my dishwasher, it's been at least 4-5 months on doing them by hand.

Brought lunch to work, tortilla chips with a little mozzella cheese on top, with a small 1/4 cup of salsa-I've been on a kick with this, everyday for lunch for cpl. weeks, cost of lunch for a week around $2.00-$3.00. I also bring cups of fruit from home for lunch and snacks, so that saves money too.

Anna

Well frugal for me was my lumpectomy yesterday....thanks to insurance my co-pay was $15! That's pretty frugal in my book!
Rest of today will be frugal as well, going to be making my Ornaments for the exchange, I already have everything for that so no cost there!
Aside from that I'll be staying home resting and recouperating, that's frugal too!
MKS, your frugal outing sounds like it was a blast!
I think this weekend we will use the coupons we are getting from a freind. They have a huge corn maze near here, I wish I had the website for it, they have an overhead view of the whole thing, pretty cool. If I find it I will post it later.
The have a huge pumpkin patch, and a pumkin chuker....it's a catapault that you load pumpkins in and go for distance and win a prize! My 10 year old and DH (he is the biggest kid in the house after all! ) want to do that!
Hope everyone is having a great day!
Janet

Well, it's not frugal yet, but..... they found my oldest ds's father (in Arkansas !) and if he pays what he owes I'll be a happy camper!

He is $16,400.20 in arrears PLUS $9,497.77 in intrest has accumulated on the arrears for a grand total of $25,897.97 !!!

If my ds goes to the college we want him to go to, that amount would cover tuition for 4 years!

Unfortunatly, I don't think that we will ever see a penny of it, but dreaming is definatly (sp?) frugal

CS arrears

Vjumpstart- My childs dad has an arrears figure of about 14,500. And hes been paying on it for the last 2 years. Unfortunatley, well be collecting it until we are 65 yo. cause wed NEVER get a lump sum. NEVER!!!! I just went to court to get my support raised. Hes only been really paying the last 2 years. I was ordered in 1986 173. per month- never had it raised went and won!!! Hes now ordered to pay $ 459 plus $90 arrears YEAH! I pray he keeps his job. My ex and his wife are really really mad at me. OH well. Doesnt he realize cost of living has gone up? And who the heck has been feeding and clothing this kid the last 16 years? So, he should not complain. I wish I could get the lump sum of what he owes, but unless he had boocoo bucks, its slim to none. Glad you found you childs father, thats half the battle!

I made some applesauce fig bread today, I needed to use up some applesauce.

I save any padded envelopes I get in the mail so that I never have to buy any. So today I got two packages ready to mail and I used the recyled envelopes. I love getting freebies in the mail, that's where I get all the envelopes.

ldyroper ~

My ds's dad only has to pay $200/mo. This was originaly $100/mo. back in 1990, and after a few months he thought it was too much. He took me to court to try to get it lowered and ended up getting it doubled to the $200 ! He LOVES to get jobs where he gets paid cash, and hasn't filed income tax since 1990. You'd think that not filing for that long would be enough to get someone looking for him!
