Jayne - your afternoon at the mall sounded fun, I just love free to, good find!

Leasmom - Wow, it sounds like you hit the jackpot! That was so nice of your neighbor to tell you about it.

I made two apple pies today, and I helped my dd make a little one. I also did a pile of my mending. It seems like I keep doing everyone elses and neglecting mine!

I snuck out to lunch at McDonalds. I bought a happy meal for me, went for a drive and ate it. They have Madame Alexander dolls in the happy meals, and I'm saving them for dd for Christmas. I've done this several times lately, so I'll have quite a few. So I'm thinking I get me lunch and a present for dd for a couple of bucks! lol

I have a mouse in my kitchen! Yuk! I put out lids of mashed potato flakes. They eat it and it swell up in their tummys and they die. I didn't want traps in my kitchen, and didn't want to buy any.

Songberries, I could loan you one of my cats. I guess you can hope that the mouse leaves the house to die. Long ago I had one that ate the poison, then left poison colored droppings for a while, then died in my dh's bottom dresser drawer! I did not enjoy the clean up. I'm just glad it didn't die in MY dresser! ;-)

Troubles, I sure pray that your surgery goes well.

MKS - yup, I'm just hoping the mouse doesn't die in the house anywhere. My dh didn't want me to do it this way, but I thought I'd give it a try. Sometimes I wish I had a cat! (I love them, but I'm allergic to them now)

well on the good side...we sold our other car for 550. thats enough to pay for contry. on the bad side..allour other horses ran him thru the fence ( turned off electric) 2 times. lesa and i spent the better part of the day, walking the fence and restringing it up. we put the cloth ties on it too. so maybe he was ok after i left. she was gonna put him back in the barn befro she went to work tho. so hed be ok tonight.

Carol - you taught me something new, I had never had that about potatoe flakes and mice. Will have to tell my mom and let her try that at lake house.

Troubles - I hope your surgery goes well too and will say a prayer for you.

I love free too. We started our day at Meijer's for a free Strawberry Shortcake party. They got a cupcake, sm soda, animal mask, Strawberry shortcake ring for free.

We then went to Bernheim Forrest and they had a Colorfest going on. It is normally $5.00 a car but I had won a free admission. Turns out they had lots of nature activities. The kids did a leaf transfer, nature paintings, made a nature wreath for head, stick people, I Spy Trail, face painting and yarn weaving. They also had music and a blacksmith. It was enjoyable.

Then went out to dinner with family as two DB were in town. This did cost us but was worth it!

Redcardinalbird - I also found out that mice don't like fabric softener. Our mouse kept getting into the drawer under the stove, that's where I keep a lot of frying pans and stuff, and I was getting tired of cleaning everything out, so I put some fabric softener on some rags, and put them in the drawer. The mouse has stayed out of the drawer. Yuk, I hate mice!

I cooked the apple peels and apple cores down with some water, I heard it would turn to pectin. I guess you have to cook it for a long, long time. I did get 2 cups of apple juice that had some apple in it, kind of like a very thin apple sauce. I used it in the coffee cake I made for breakfast. It sure made the house smell good when I was cooking it.

Songberries, Do you think fabric softner sheets will work instead of rags with it on them?

Beautiful horse Joesbaby!

From one horse lover to another, hes very good looking! Be careful when turning him out with the others tho, they will run him thru a fence and bite him! I always put the new one in the corral for a week or so and let them get used to each other over the corral fence then turn them out. I just got a AQHA weanling last month. Shes sorrel with a blaze and one sock. We got her for a semi load of hay. We had lots of extra hay, and the guy needed hay, so this worked out good, (since we didnt have the cash!) Shes up in the corral, cause colts are known to go thru fences. The big ones would run her over. We have 2 paints. Ones grey and white and ones a mustang out of nevada. Both have one blue eye and one brown eye. then we have 2 grey geldings and one bay old mare. Ive been riding alot since the weather is so nice here lately.
Good luck with your new horse. Are there many trails around where you live?

Cleaned out our videos

Dd has about 30 plus Mary Kate and Ashley videos so it took some doing to convince her to part with at least half of them. I wanted to clean it out since we don't even watch any of our videos especially since we had stuffed everything in there.

I'm gonna try to see if I can sell them tomorrow for some extra dough even though I know I won't get even half of what I paid, I would feel better to unload some of it.

I've got studying to do today and I have to make some blueberry muffins and maybe even some hot pockets today or maybe tomorrow...we'll see how I feel. I have stress in the back of my neck that has me in alot of pain, so it depends on how I feel.

Leasmom, have you tried selling those videos on half.com? A couple of their videos on that site are listing for $6. You could undercut those prices a bit

Good luck!

Got some good deals at the supermarket today:
For $1 total I got 1 Shout, 1 Windex, 1 Fantastic, 1 Scrubbing Bubbles. This store is really pushing the cleaning supplies. I will have enough stuff between today and last week to keep my house clean for a good while. Now if I could only find someone to help me do the scrubbing....
5 for $10 I got Pepsi brand 12-packs of cans. That will keep DH in the iced tea he likes to take to work for quite a while!
1.49 I got 1 pack of 8-inch tortillas AND 8 oz shredded cheese. Maybe I will make quesadillas for dinner one night this week. The kids really like them. They just have cheese on theirs but I put a little salsa in mine

AND instead of going out for dinner I am having leftover spaghetti.
