Ericka - forgot to post re your water heater. As you moved it you may have stirred up any rust or minerals that were in it and they have settled in the pipes causing it to not heat as fast or efficiently. You can drain it and get rid of these. Don't know if this the cause of it or not.

Ericka, I agree with Redcardinalbird about the water heater, when we moved to our trailer 3 years ago. The calcium build up was so bad that we did not even have hot water running to one of our bathtubs. The water eventually got so slow that we did not have hot water anywhere in the trailer. DH and my dad had to take the water heater outside and dump the water heater and spray it out with a hose and then "blow" the water lines. Problem completely fixed. With just a neighbors hose, and an air compressor. We even had hot water in the bathtub that did not have hot water. Try to take care of that now, so the buildup does not get in the rest of your water lines!!!!

I never knew the history of Columbus either, but, hey I don't recognize it as a holiday per se. The only one's that I feel really need to have the history known is Thanksgiving, Easter, Independence day, and most of all Christmas. I do like my kids to know the meaning of Labor day, and Memorial day, the ones like presidents day are not important, sorry.

Frugal not much here, it is supposed to rain later today, so I will not even attempt to hang wash out. We will be having leftovers for supper tonight, I guess that is frugal.

Got a long day today

Couldn't quite get out of the door this morning...so dd was late for school. I just came home for a second before heading back out the door. I have to go to class and then come home, get the mail, get dd, come back home or go to the store, whichever one. Then go to a classmates house and then take dd to Cheerleading and won't get home until about 8:15 tonight.

I have to go to my classmaters house because she is having everyone practice the CNA skills...we are really being rushed through these skills faster than I ever thought. The first time I was a CNA, we practiced over and over the skills so they were second nature...this time it's here practice this, then go home and practice...YIKES!

I'm planning on working on my Christmas cards again today, I also need to hem a piece of upholstry fabric I found in the closet, it has grapes and fruit on it, and it's thin enough it will make a great tablecloth.

Frugal today is mainly just puttering around the house more than anything!
Aside from that I have a couple of Christmas Ornaments that I am making for the exchange, and everything I need is already at home!
Hope everyone has a fabulous day!

I'm with Janet! Frugal for me this whole week has been, for the most part, just stayin' home and cleaning/sorting/organizing.

* Have two rooms left to dust and some laundry and floors to wash (time to dance around the tile on two rag towels with my spray bottle of vinegar!).

* Oh, and need to vacuum the van and wax it. This is frugal because if I do not keep up with these, the carpet and paint will look old before their time making the van hard to sell when we decide to.

* Have successfully avoided the supermarkets (don't need anything).

* Haven't spent any money accept $13 for a 3qt Rival crockpot on sale at K-Mart and $13 for a haircut (it's been 6 months - that's frugal!). Both places were in the same plaza.

* Tonight we eat out BBQ using a $10 gift certificate we received for filling out a newspaper survey asking where we eat and how often. I like gift certificates!

Keep that frugal train chugging along girls! God bless...

I haven't been doing much lately. Today been working on my joke jars and the acorn jars, typing more jokes (sorry, I've had awhile and don't remember now where I got them). I found some kids jokes yesterday and made up 50 jokes for a kid's joke jar. Will be working on my dolls here in a little bit. I enjoy sewing them by hand, my goal by next spring is to have 180 made up. dh and mil want to make some too, dh tracing and cutting, mil sewing, so I should reach my goal.

Washed clothes this morning, will hang inside to dry tonight since it's raining here today. Will make dinner at home again, this is probably the biggest cost saver we do instead of ordering out. I think we're having Taco's. I have hamburger (turkey) that needs to be cooked so we'll either have meatless burritos, taco's or I'll make a meatloaf for tommorow and have the burritos tonight.

Osi, Can you describe the acorn jars. I don't think you already have. They sound interesting.

JDD,

I've been working on the ornaments too! What I didn't make or paint, I got from the Thrift store for .50 cents.

Well, today I went to the Salvation Army and they had a bag of books for $1.50. I got dd lots of books and the Tightwad Gazzette in there for me...I have wanted that book for a good while!

After class, I went to another Salvation Army and they had a bag of books for $1.00. Dd was so excited, you'd think she'd had brand new toys! I got a total of 22 books for her for $2.50. That's not bad!

Leasmom,
That is a good deal on books! Our library is having another library sale next weekend but their still not that cheap! My frugal thing I guess lately is not really going anywhere that costs money....Sunday though we are going to a place called Red Wagon Farm, they have a pumpkin patch and offer hay rides that are 2.00. I want to take DS and lots of pictures...Still irrated at dh for not showing me how to download some of the digital pictures we have. I will defintly be trying to force the issue of at least downloading one of ds so that I can show him off to my family corner family!
I have joined a couple of you on staying home and sorting/organizing my dh has his closet in the basement since he has his own bathroom down there anyway I never really bother his closet, but I went in there yesterday deciding to be nice and hang up some of his stuff as I was sorting through I came to realize that he has clothes he never ever wears and some that are no longer wearable. Needless to say I threw out a ton of yukko tshirts etc...I cant believe I never paid attention prior to this clean out! SHAME on me! It felt good to purge some things and the hangers I ended up with to think I have been on the look out for hangers! We also have been going through the room we will be using when the baby comes, that was oh throw it in there stuff.....We really got rid of stuff in there over the weekend!
