I took a burrito to class the other day and it cost me $3
from the store. I'm now taking my lunch. The first day I took cold spaghetti, the second day I took a ham sandwich. It's much easier to bring it than to buy, as long as it's suitable, I agree.
I took some coffee and had ice coffee to drink with it and it was great because it woke me up!!!
I just noticed I am now a Senior member on FC Im so excited
Boggsz- ME TOO !!..........but is that a good thing to be a "Senior" member? I feel old enough as it is! tee hee!

Frugal today.........donated an old Christmas tree to Goodwill. I'd rather have the tax deduction, than store it, (or assemble it) again! Am going thru c/o inserts.....will send some to autumnmum... ...also found 2 valances @ a yard sale. These are made out of cotton material, same as kitchen towels. I'm gonna wash and take them apart. They will make me about 10 dish towels. For 25 cents!

Well I don't know if you consider this frugal or not but I am sewing new curtains for my kitchen/dining room instead of going out and buying them. I am making them out of denim material with goldish check valances. I am putting gingerbread men on each of the curtain panels. These I am making myself from brown felt. I am also going to re paper my kitchen wall in yellow check paper. Then I am going to stamp gingerbread men on the new paper. My cabinets are metal so therefor I am doing gingerbread men outa wood shapes and putting them up as magnets. I am also making a new monitor, keyboard, and printer cover as well as a toaster cover out of the same fabric as the curtains and each one of them will have ginger bread men on them. My new table cloth I am making outa the check fabric with denim placemats.

Troubles - wow, very frugal of you!! Now, some people would of hired someone to do all that work, so you're saving a lot! Plus, think how much more you'll enjoy your kitchen and dinningroom when you're done!

Troubles - way to go on making your own. It is frugal as it will be exactly what you want! You won't be spending money on something you won't like and replacing it sooner.
My frugalness today (also posted on pet peeve) was to walk out of a grocery store because I did not have my card with me and did not care to pay full price for 8 items. It would have been over eight dollars extra to spend. My DH said he would have paid it rather than inconvenience of going to other store. Told him I would be going by it later anyway and it was the principle. I only spent $7.18 there less than I would have saved using my card at the other store.

Well I don't know if you consider this frugal or not
YES Kathy that is very frugal! They sound cute too. If you can once done post a picture.
redcardinalbird next time tell them you don't have your card with you. I've done this and they will either use one they have at the register or they'll ask another customer if we can borrow one. The Winn Dixie here can also just put your phone number in and pull it up that way. If all else fails, I have also simply asked for a new card.
Frugal today is going to be staying home, doing laundry and cleaning out my e-mail box. It's going to explode with un-read e-mails. :p

Welcome to our thread Troubles and yes, I agree with everyone making your own curtains is very frugal, especially with what they cost now days!
Bilby- I think everyone did a great job of explaining what a buckeye is. My co worker is back from the east coast and has one of my necklaces which he will be taking a picture of on his digital and I will post this afternoon. We don't have a digital camera yet, can't see buying one when we paid over $500 for a 35mm camera less than 4 years ago, make it last till it wears out. I may look into buying one of those disposables though, just for posting pics here.
Frugal this weekend was a trip to my cat welfare. I found this ugly homemade wooden cabinet thing 6 foot tall with 4 large storage compartments and little slatted areas on the side where I could put spices or small containers of paint. It has coaster wheels on it too. It was $4.00. I put it in our junk room and put some of dh's tool boxes in it, one shelf I used for sheets and pillow cases, another will be used for our craft stuff. I also found a candle making kit for $1.00. It has some candle stuff that is like epsom salts type material, you put it in a container, put in a candle wick and liquid scent and light. It was so easy, unfortuantely I can't figure out who made it. The instructions were wrote in a foreign language. Fortunately, the bags had american writting, showing 3 easy steps. There's enough there for alot of candles. The scent I have is cinnamon buns, mmm... it smelled so good.
I also went to Staples office supply yesterday and bought a 400 pack of pastel multicolored paper for my joke jars and some smiley faces (large) 20 in a pack for $1.98. The paper was $6.50 which equals out to less than .2 cents a sheet, much more profitable. I also went to the library on Saturday and got a bunch of books on crafts, candle making and wood working. dh wants to make doll cradles for our craft booth next year and I found one with the template.
We also went for a walk in one of state forest yesterday, it was so beautiful, the leafs were falling down on us like rain. Found more acorns and chestnuts (don't know the variety). Dh brought home the chestnuts for our squirrels, they don't get any nuts in our area and they so enjoy them. I found some crafts using nuts, acorns drill a hole (use 4) and put wire through, makes it into a caterpillar. Really cute.
