.......not much frugal today, except staying home. I'm STILL waiting for the background check to come in, so I can get to work. These guys promised me a job nearly 3 weeks ago!
I'm going in the morning to talk to another company about a job they have. I can't continue to wait.

I have been running around like mad today

Didn't buy much food, money is pretty tight right now. So, went to several stores that had very good deals. I have enough for a few days but as soon as I can I'm getting more.

Went to the CNA class today...had my first test got 100% on all 3 tests...we have test everyday. In two weeks I'll be doing clinicals and then graduate on Oct. 30th. I will have to go to class on Columbus Day though so our class can get out on Oct. 30th and not on Oct. 31st.

Don't you hate the way employers do this??? When my dh was unemployed--layed off unexpectedly--he would interview then never hear another word. It is SO unprofessional! My oldest dd is waiting for a call to interview with the county dispatch and they keep telling her "next week" and have been for 1 1/2 months now. Good grief people, if your employees were so unproductive and unreliable you'd fire them.

Good luck tomorrow.

Jayne

Jayne-
Thanks!.....I could just wring this guys throat. He had me come in to the warehouse 3 weeks ago, and watch how the couriers did their paperwork, shipments, etc...(3 hours worth..)...then came back the next day to fill out the consent forms to release info on me.
I've been calling him every other day, and he acts like I'm bothering him. If he does not have a route for me.....geeze......just say so. I've turned down 2 other jobs while I've been waiting!
It's to the point that I have to go take a part-time job, cause my homeowner's ins. is due, and I'm so far behind in other bills, that my electric was shut off 2 weeks ago. I had to borrow the money to get that reconnected.
Things have got to get better........

When on the homemadesimple site you can order a Mr. Clean Eraser for free. I ordered one awhile back and it works great. ( copied the following link.

Vjumpstart - "NO HOUSEWORK FOR YOU, YOUNG LADY!!!" I am very bored. I don't sew, knit, crochet, or do any kind of craft, and I've read all the books in the house several times. Any suggestions on fighting boredom??? I know it is very boring but don't do anything that will put your health or recovery in jeopardy! Is there a library close by where you could borrow some books or videos you want? You could call an elementary school by and ask if they have any work you could do for them at home such as cutting out letters or making flash cards etc.

Frugalness for today was getting a 12 pack box of Yoplait Yogurt for $1.00. They were clearing it out and only had Cherry available. But that was okay by me. They had $3.00 on the box and I had two coupons for $.50 off for 6. Meijer doubles $.50 and less here so that made it $2.00 off. Also got the kids the surprize yogarts for $1.oo for their lunches.

Vicki-

Sorry to hear that you can't get out and about. Do you have a printer? Now might be a good time to run off those jokes for a joke jar. Then if dh has access and is allowed, have him run them off on colored paper, bring home and start cutting and folding for your jars. Library books too are a good source if you can get your husband or family to go by and grab you a few. Harlequins are always a good choice for me, huge selection and if you don't like one try another. Hope this helps.

Anna

Leasmom,
Been meaning to ask you what a Cna is, my guess is a certified nurses aid. Just double checking though.
Vickie,
Yes I would call the library as I bet many have a home delivery service for those unable to get out! Or make a list and send the dh!
Bettdev,
I hope the job comes through for you after all this! My bil has been unemployed(laid off) since May, and Jayne your right there have been so many non responsive employers after interviews. Its a real kick to his selfesteem thats for sure. Not to mention unemployment pays much of nothing so they are starting to feel the pinch as his severence ran out in August.... I feel bad for him.
For all your tide buyers is 8.88 a good price for 200oz? According to the news channels around here our 2 main grocers are starting a price war which will be good for us consumers. Supposdly my one store has lowered prices on 12,000 items. Still trying to figure it all out. Even though I am not eating it anymore I keep finding these great deals on icecream, bought some for deepfreeze as dh and ds like it and neither ever gain weight it seems. Anyway they have Ruggles on sale for 1.88 which is good in its self but then I had 2 .50 cent coupons which were tripled so who could pass it up... Wish I had more coupons.
Jayne thanks for the costume site. I have to think of something to make my little guy.

shocking Reading

Last night at 11:00 I remembered our neighbor lady gave me 2 Danielle Steel books (The Gift and another one). I started reading and couldn't put it down! I also cried and cried and cried - I've never read Steel before. I was up until 4:00 this morning so that I could finish the book!!! I am sooooo tired now and the kiddos are awake. I think that today will be a good day for them to vege. in front of PBS or Discovery Kids. That way I can nap.
I'll have to be more careful on what kind of book I read from now on.

Leighann I'd snap it up! It's on sale right now at Winn Dixie for $5.99/100 oz so YES this is a good price. If you have coupons all the better. I wish I could get in on that deal. The BEST I've ever seen it was $3.99 at Piggly Wiggly some time back. They are now closed until January when they'll re-open in a new location whihc is actually their original location from years ago. :p Lowes bought the shopping center and is tearing it down to build a store. YAY!!! Dh is since Lowes and Home Depot are his favorite places and thee closest Lowes is currently 45 minutes away. This one will be less than a mile from us.

Anyway--if you're a Tide user then grab it up.

Jayne
