Good evening girls, hope you all have had a good day. I have had a busy day with paying bills, grocery shopping, laundry and cooking. Always plenty to do around here. Dh killed a copperhead yesterday while mowing. It was striking at him. I am so thankful he didn't get bitten.

Jacki, I have started back taking the cranberry pills. I am still having some uncomfort but its much better than it was. I don't know if its the pills or not but I think they are helping.

Jamie, in ways I am doing good and in ways not. I am very swelled in my stomach and I am very scared about it. Its unlike anything I have ever experienced. I had a doctor's appointment today but they called yesterday and cancelled because of a death in my doctor's family. I have a new appointment in a couple of weeks so hopefully she can help me. I keep thinking I have a hernia. I have been reading about hernias after an adominal hysterectomy and I believe thats what it is but I am really only guessing. I feel so bloated when I eat just about anything. I know something is not right. I just have a hard time not getting down because it seems like this will just not end. I thought after having the stint for months and it coming out that maybe I could get on with my life but then this has happened. Still I know I have alot to be thankful for. I can pretty much do anything except lift heavy things, mow and the bigger things like that. I feel good for the most part.

Barb, how is your dh doing? I know its a hard time for him and all the family.

Well everyone hope you sleep well. Take care and God bless.

Oh my gosh, dh and I had totally forgot about that and I'm sure my former boss (who btw is in charge of Human Resources) did too as they have not laid anyone off since 2001, thank you so much for reminding me of that.. that sure looks better than the $1200.00. I think dh is going to be o.k for now with this layoff thing and they need him desperately in December so I think we'll be o.k. it was odd.. the sales lady who is in charge of military sales, her husband is a technician there stopped dh after work and thanked him profusely for taking care of her orders (dh does most of the work and nothing goes out without his approval. He catches so many little slip ups and won't sign off on it till it is corrected, makes him not so popular with co workers but he can loose his job if he signs off and it isn't right.

On the candles, yep they do smell wonderful and it's what everyone is looking for this time of year. Personally I'm more into the flower scents but this is what everyone wants from now thru January/February.

I forgot to mention I started scenting my potpourri mix today. I made up 8 large sachet bags scented Country Clothesline, they look beautiful. I gave my elderly neighbor one since she donated flowers to the mix this summer, she was thrilled.

Frugal tonight.. made spaghetti for dinner. I stopped at Volunteers of America on my way from the Vet, got 2 ice cube trays at 30 cents each, a Melmac plate for 50 cents and a cylinder freezer container for 90 cents. It was just nice to get out and destress for a bit. Had a nice long talk with my farming friend today, a couple folks on here had asked me about liquid soap... she makes it and charges $1.00 a oz. so if anyone is interested in that, pm me and I'll send you her email address.

Bluebird

I am so sorry to hear they turned your dd down for SSI and yes, do get a attorney.

Jean

I hope you can get this stomach problem checked, is there a possibility of going to a different doctor or getting in sooner if you tell them your concerns? I wouldn't want to sit with a ticking time bomb either. Hugs to you my friend.

Well gang, it's late so I better get off here. Take care my friends and God be with each of you.

Anna

Kathy you will be in my prayers that all goes well with your surgery.
Bluebird it is such a shame that your dd got turned down for SSI.

We frugal today is wash out on the line. Used cold water for the laundry. Ran the dishwasher with no heat dry. Dh will mow the grass today. It is very high.

I got more tomatoes off the plants last night. Cut my sunflowers down sense the birds have eaten all the seeds.

Will have dinner at home as usual. Packed my lunch with leftovers.

Hugs Jean, hang in there sweetie.

As far as health insurance goes...here's some food for thought...my husband and I are proud, hardworking people who haven't been blessed with employers who provide insurance for us.Therefore we will never be able to afford the premiums for our family being we have five pre-existing conditions...the only way for us to get insurance would be for him to quit his job and us end up on wellfare...as it stands now, our premiums would be 45% of our income and no preexisting condition would be covered...in other words, we are who our President is fighting for....on that note I won't have another comment on healthcare. But maybe this lil tidbit could be a wake up call for those who've never had to think about it.

Simplysue--
I feel for you on not having health insurance. And it is ridiculous how difficult it is to pay for necessary health care without it. I am fortunate now to have insurance through work, but years ago that was not the case. I can't stand it when my co-workers whine when our co-pays etc go up--frankly, I'm just so grateful to have coverage that I don't mind paying more. It's happening across the country right now--I don't see why they think we should be exempt somehow. There, that's my soap box moment for the day--lol!

Chris, I just feel blessed that we have been able to pay cash for our medical costs so far...the amount has been far less than what insurance for my family would cost. We do live in fear of a major medical incident though.I pray every day that we stay healthy enough to stay out of the hospital and nothing major ever goes wrong. I'm happy you have a job with health insurance. DH has had jobs where you are supposed to get it after 6 months or a year and so many hours worked but the companies make darn sure that if you get close to getting enough hours in that they send you home so you don't qualify.Or suddenly, everybody who isn't covered yet gets cut a day or whatever. He even worked in a union bakery in the city up here where he had to pay union dues and still, hours were kept below limits so newer people couldn't get insurance....

Sue, I too am sorry about the insurance.
You would have thought that if your dh was paying union dues the union would have covered him.
My dh is dispatched out of his union and we get our insurance through them. The dental ins. is minimal though. I do feel blessed to have the ins. as in a couple of years dh will retire and then it will be a diff story.

Frugal here, not spending any money except for what is needed. Doing things around the house today. Going to wash all my comforters in the house today as well as any blankets that need it. Also going to work on Fall cleaning early and organize the garage more. Hope you all have a great day. God bless you all.
