Jamie way to go with the yarn sale.

Patti take care of yourself. Sounds like you are doing a great job on being frugal.

Barb yes the coupons are great this week. Dh and I do read the paper. We are getting alot of rain today. So our paper got pretty wet this morning. We were able to get the coupons of it but not much readying. LOL!!

Well sense the weather today is misserable. We will be home indoors today. Dh asked me to make brunch in a little bit. I took a roast out of the freezer for dinner. All our meals will be at home today. I cut out the coupons out of the paper already. I made my menu list for the week. I will see if there is any wash that needs to be done today. I have 3 movies from Netflix. I will see if maybe I can watch 1 of them today sense we are indoors because of the weather.

DD #2 was up at the Pocono race track on Friday. She won a t-shirt for doing pull ups or something like that. She got as many free things and coupons as she could before they left because of the rain.

Our trip at BB&B went well. So now we just have to pick up a few more things for DD #1 and then when she gets to school we can see what else she will need.

Norma I hope things work out with the new guy if it is meant to be.

Well better get off of here. The thunder and lighting is getting pretty close.

Thanks for the links Dovie I have my free Schwans food coming but I do think the JCPenny shirt is sold out as my invoice said it was unavailable.

Barb, you can use the papers as mulch in the garden, flowerbed or to kill out the grass in a new bed for next year.

Yesterday we pulled out all the stuff from around the two walls in the kitchen, found the mices home with 2 dead babies ended up trashing a lot of things as they weren't worth or able to be saved. Shampooed the carpet and sprayed Lysol on it afterwards and bleached the panelling and baseboard in the kitchen. We saw one mouse while pulling the things up and ended up getting two in the traps overnight so crossing fingers that is the last of them.

I pulled a foot wide shelving unit that I paid $2 at a sale last summer from my office and put it in the kitchen to hold the things that were on the wide shelving unit that the mice had made their home under. This one is 3 inches off the ground and has a trap under it, evil grin. It will take up so much less room and help keep things off the floor.

Will be soaking what we kept in bleach water to kill any germs and clean them today and finish clearing off the table and counters.

I have one load of laundry out on the line and a second load washing this morning.

The windows are open again this morning though will probably have to close them up around noon again. Will go to my sister's again this afternoon for another detox body wrap then next week will go to the school for one as she needs the teachers to see.

Ended up using my $30 Pizza Hut gift cards (earned at mypoints.com) for dinner last night. First time we have actually eaten inside LOL. Used a coupon and got 1 lg super supreme pizza, 10 boneless wings, and drinks for 4 plus tip for the $30. And we have enough for lunch with fresh veggies on the side.

Thank you I try to be as frugal as possible. I also do my best to take care of me.
Other than meds for both Judy & I will not be spending any $$ today and we both have good insurance thing so not much for the meds. Not sure yet how much as Anne (our friend who takes Judy to church and will pick up meds on way back here) has not been there yet.
Happy Sunday all

I took my free items coupons that I had received in the mail in to Kroger. It was so nice to get groceries that didn't cost me anything. I had a coupon for two free cans of Manadrian oranges, three coupons for a free bags of M & M's, free bottle of ketchup, just to name a few.

Kroger has some nice meat sales going on this week so I'll be using my last $5 off $50 order this week. Will need to borrow my Mom's cooler so I can defrost the freezer first as it really needs it and I only have one big cooler.

We had a Midnight Movie Madness night last night so I'm the only one up LOL. We saw the Get Smart movie and the Watchmen (not for children) and was up to 3 am.

Oh I forgot we were without power last night for 70 min (which is why we were up later than normal watching the movies). Fried squirrel around the corner took out a transformer took forever to get it reported as they have gone all automated in reporting outages. So that was a frugal LOL no electric use at all for 70 min. Did have some issues getting DH's computer up and running as he thought the modem went but it ended up just needing a new cable to it which we had already.

Good morning, ladies! My, you have all been so busy this morning, I feel like a slacker - lol! I do have one load of laundry in the washer and will be hanging that outside. I will strip the beds and hang the sheets outside to dry as well.

I will have to turn the AC back on today, as it's supposed to get to 90. I can feel the humidity creeping in. Yesterday was an absolutely perfect day - clear blue skies and 78*. Hard to believe it's August!

I picked about 20 tomatoes from the garden yesterday! I will be making spaghetti sauce from them today, also using fresh basil from the garden. I'll be making a blueberry buckle for dessert, as I have some blueberries I need to use up.

I will be picking up a couple of newspapers this afternoon.

Jamie, sounds like you had fun at the yarn store. I am the same way about fabric and cross-stitching! Like a kid in a candy shop!

Sorry I didn't reply to all, but I really need to get moving! I hope you all have a wonderful day. Saying prayers for those of you who are going through tough times and with medical issues.

Roberta, I hate mice! At least you found a solution for the storage. Congrats on the gift cards from mypoints too.

thscar, those are some great savings.

Norma, I'm with you, if it's meant to be it will work out and you did have a nice time.

barb, welcome back! Did you have a nice birthday?

We all had a wonderful day yesterday. His family is very nice, just common people like I was raised with. After the 25th Anniversary party we went back to his place and had a delicious dinner! He made pork loin and chicken he'd put in the smoker, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, corn on the cob, green beans and crescent rolls. For dessert he made 2 pies, one chocolate and white chocolate in a graham cracker crust and the other a chocolate and butterscotch also in a graham cracker crust, all with sugar free pudding so Alyssa could have some. He only let me help him peel potatoes and He did let me help wash up but he did the rest! He also put gas in my van since I drove all the way out there. I know he did it because of the situation that's going on, melts the heart more huh?

Today the girls want to go to the lake so I guess that is what we'll do, we'll leave here in about an hour or so.

Hugs to you all, I need to move it. Frugal is bringing our own food to the lake!

Lisa

Hello everyone,

I've been lurking around the frugal forum for a few weeks and wanted to ask how many of you have / shop at Aldi's.

One opened near us a few weeks ago. I went once to check it out, check out the prices and bought a couple things to try. I went back today and bought a few more things. The prices seem to be just a little less than Walmarts store brands and quite a bit less than Shop Rite.

I bought a no bake cheesecake this afternoon that I have chilling in the refrigerator . . . going to test it out on dh and dd to see if they like it.

Thanks for your opinions!

I wish I had an Aldi's here some where near me but we don't. We don't have Shoprite here either.
