Lauri, I am glad your walk did you some good. I know its so hard being confined to the house for a long time. Take care of yourself.
Anna, thank for the prayers. My ods surely needs them. I have got to soak me some beans and cook them soon. I have been craving pinto beans but have been trying to fix the green beans since they are in the garden. Enjoy the pary tomorrow.
Roberta, I am glad you had good luck with things selling.
Mish, good job sticking to the list. I rarely do and thats what gets me in trouble at the grocery store.
Patti, sounds like you are doing a great job being frugal.
Jamie, glad you got to go the yarn store and enjoyed it.
Cheryl, with all your no spend days I think you deserved a treat from LJS. I love their flatbread chicken sandwiches.
Norma, thats good that your guy was upfront with you. If its meant to be it will work out. Its always nice to make another friend if nothing else ever comes of it.
Frugal today was ds eating at the reunion and dh's aunts sending home some food. I didn't have to cook supper except I did cook garden corn and the rest was just heated up for the guys. Well sleep peaceful everyone.
Jean
Thanks for the advice I should have ask are you planting them from seed or from starters?
Patty
Hope you will continue getting good nights sleep, I need to be in bed myself LOL!
Jeandeannette
I understand about the green beans, perhaps you could freeze some for later use? I am going to be attempting soon making homemade chili with beans instead of buying canned beans.
RobertaD
Congrats on the sales... I am still procrastinating on having a yard sale, need to get serious about it or pack it up and put it in the shed till next year. On your dh's legs does he try to get out and move around a bit? Could it be a vascular leg problem?
Norma
Nice to hear you had such a good date and sorry to hear this guy is possibly reuniting with a old flame, how disappointing.
Mish
It makes me sad that jewelry repair shops can't do a honest business without having to charge higher prices than what it cost new to buy it. They have all but disappeared along with shoe cobblers, TV repairmen and electronic repairmen for things like clocks. Things made so cheap overseas that we have become a very throw away society instead of fixing it.
Well gang need to get some sleep ... everyone have a great Sunday and don't forget those extra circulars in the newspaper.
Anna

I really haven't done anything frugal the last few days but I'll pop in here to say hi anyway. Dh is on his motorcycle rally trip with his step dad, uncle and cousin. They left Thursday afternoon and arrived in Sturgis, SD today. When he called I could just hear the excitement in his voice. Said you couldn't even drive down main street there are so many bikes. I am missing him but this has been a dream of his so I hope he's having a wonderful time.
Tomorrow I am going with dd1 to do some back to school shopping for dgs who will be in third grade this year, he will turn 8 in Nov. Then we are driving a couple hours north to pick up the kids cousins to visit for a few days. These are the cousins that my dgk's went to visit for 4 days last week. This will get me out of the house for the day but likely will not be frugal.
Yesterday I babysat grandkids here for awhile then we went to the library and McDonald's for lunch. Dgd (almost 3) has a favorite book that we have to keep renewing each time. Dd1 says she will likely have to buy it as my sil lets the kids take a book to bed each nice to read/look at for a few minutes before they go to sleep and dgd always has to have this same book, dd said dgd had a fit the other night when it couldn't be located at first. Maybe we'll stop at the bookstore tomorrow to buy it.
Jean, you sound so lively lately, I'm glad you are feeling some better. Will this be your ods's last year in college? You've told me before but I forget what he's majoring in.
Roberta, A few months ago I had numbness in my feet, all the way up my legs to my waist, it lasted over a week. Dr. was unsure but I know it was related to high blood sugar. When I cut way back on sugar it mostly went away. I do still have some numbness in my feet that I know is diabetes related.
Norma, I'm glad you enjoyed yourself on your date this afternoon. I hope things work out for the two of you.
Lauri, Glad you are feeling so much better and able to get out some. I need to get out and walk for my health too, Dr. always mentions it but I don't do it.
Jamie, I love scones and I haven't made any in so long. Last year when we were in Washington for a few weeks, they had boxed scone mix in the stores, I've never seen that here.
Anna, you are such a thoughtful and sharing neighbor, bless you.
Patti and Pootersmommy, congrats on all your frugal ways and no spend days lately.
Lisa, I hope you enjoy your weekend and good for you trying not to think about things til it's over.
Mish, have you decided if you are taking a class in the fall?
Jacki
Thank you Anna and Johnnysgirl I am not always able to be frugal. Tomorrow I have to get Judy's med and mine but it will not be much.
I too hope I sleep tonite as well as you Anna and the others.
Johnnysgirl your hubby will have a great time while in Sturgis for sure. And he is right on not being able to drive for the cycles. Has he ever been there before? There is a lot to see in that area MT Rushmore for one tho' not in Sturgis. My son in law is from there and dau brought me back a shirt from Sturgis Rally. They did not attend it but got a shirt for herself, hubby and me.

I sure hope everyone is doing okay- sorry but I will never remember it all but I am praying.
Norma, sounds like the guy at least has integrity- I'm with you, better to know now.
Lisa, I really hope something good comes up for you soon. I can't think of anything off the top of my head right now that our frugal friends haven't covered but if I do I'll be sure to let you know.
Frugal shopping today- Kroger had some really great deals on b/s chicken breasts, pot roast and there was one of those huge bags of thighs and legs for 2.79. Haven't seen them that cheap in a long time. Also got some cereal on sale for the kids for a treat- they like the sweet stuff and cheerios now and then.
I'm a little excited it is not much but I actually have a paying sponsor for my blog (again very little) but now I have some cash in my PayPal. I also have a couple of sponsors for reviews and giveaways coming up, I'm planning a few neat things for back to school especially with lunches and such.
For those of you with younger children- there is a giveaway going on right now (not mine) that is so cool that I had to link it on my blog for an extra entry. It is for a $500+ bounce house water slide that holds up to 300 lbs. We live near Ken's family and there are tons of kids and it would just be so much fun. Cheaper than the water parks and play places and whatnot. With Kyra in the process of a divorce we don't take Ian for swimming or to the two different playworld type places like he had passes to last year and while we still do the parks and free/really cheap things, this would be so much fun. If you are interested just click the link on the side of my blog and enter away. (Sorry if this isn't the place, but I did try to point out the frugalness of having one.)
Other than that not much else. I envy you all your wonderful gardens but in the best possible I am so happy for you way. There is nothing like home grown.
You can get an up to $10 free item from Schwans no need to buy anything else. http://www.schwans.com/landing/landi...px?id=freefood no delivery fee.
Also, Seventeen Mag and JCP are giving away a free tank (online, free shipping too) to first 15,000. http://www.jcpenney.com/jcp/x6.aspx?...2d0ca25ac73b48
Hope you all get them- the tanks are on backorder but the code works order goes through and you will get one.
Thanks for all the good wishes for the relationship. If it is meant to be it will, otherwise, it was a nice date.
Frugal today has been to wash 2 loads of clothes, go to the local grocery, only spending $11 for the weeks groceries, and now I have dried lima beans soaking, need to do again, and having turkey necks in the crock pot making the broth to cook the beans in. I will put in a couple of onions, and some shredded carrots to add a little color and taste, and make a pot of rice for dinner.
Other than that, just kicking back with the coupon club business. It is already 75* out there and muggy with an overcast sky. It is supposed to be really stormy, so other than going to church, no outdoor plans for me today.
Your day sounds good Norma. Mine will be pretty much like that. I may have to go out and get Judy's & my meds from Rite Aid but other than that just back home and clip

Just tried to order that tank top but JC Penney site says it is out of stock. I guess they ran out already. Thanks for posting it, Dovie--and keep on sharing the great offers.
The coupons this weekend are amazing. I am buying 2 extra papers today on the way to church. I just wish I knew someone who would want to read the paper--I hate to just toss the whole paper (minus the coupons) into the recycle box.
Norma, I hope it all works out with the new guy.
Johnnysgirl, if you have a scone recipe you like, you can make up bags of scone mix and put them in the freezer. Just put all the dry ingredients into ziplock bags. Then anytime you want scones you just need to add the wet ingredients and bake. (I do this with bread-machine ingredients all the time; there are some breads that have a whole bunch of dry ingredients and I make up many bags of mix at a time.)
