Thought before I get to my cleaning again I would say hi.

Norma, have a wonderful time. I can't wait to hear about it.

Patti, I hope that migraine goes away soon.

Lisa, enjoy your day with the bf's family.

Frugal for me is staying home and cooking from home. I took out the garbage and the compost and went to the garden. I picked several cucumbers and a few ears of corn. The corn is not as full as it should be but I wanted a few for supper. I have been cleaning but have much more to do. Dh is working and ds is gone with his papaw to a family reunion. I used some scrapes on the dog's food to stretch her meal and she loves it.

Today is my ods birthday and I called to talk to him for awhile. Of course we celebrated his bd on Wednesday when we went to see him so I gave him his birthday money then. I also gave him a jar of change I had saved and took him to eat and bought him some groceries. He still hasn't found a job. I keep hoping and praying he will soon. Hard to believe my baby is 22. I am now going to save up the same size jar of change for my youngest son. I try to be as fair as I can with the boys.

Roberta, I hope your dh will be okay. I agree with you some things we just have to give over to God because they are out of our control.

Well better get back to the grind. Have a good day.

Norma---Have a nice time with the new man. Looking forward to hearing aboaut it.
Lisa---Enjoy the party. Sorry to hear about your ex's unemployment. I know you can do it though!
Roberta---I know what you mean about worrying. I am finally starting to stop all the worrying I was doing. It was getting crazy. Hope your dh will be ok.
I did have a nice day ventruing out yesterday. It felt good to ge tout of here and be by myself. Just ran a few errands and walked to get the mail. Will walk to get the mail again later. Went to Borders today. I parked far away so I would have to walk. I guess every little bit counts.
Hugs to all.

Can you plant Cucumbers this late in the year? and what about squash? or zuchinni?

Thanks everyone for the well wishes in ref. to my Mom, it's sad she doesn't even know she has grandchildren.

Today's frugal? I did have to run to Aldi's to pick up a couple things, hamburger, tomato paste for dh's juice, got 4 peachs at 33 cents each and a can of whip cream, peel and sliced the peaches and shared with Neal and Melissa's Mom who happened to drive up as I was crossing the street, so I asked if she wanted some... she looked like she had hit the lottery LOL! Madyson's Birthday party is there tommorow so I'll be having a free lunch. David isn't into parties anymore so he'll stay home.

Lunch today (also shared with Neal) was leftover veggie soup. I have beans soaking to cook tonight for the bean soup and corn bread tommorow.

Jeandeannette

Here is prayers that your son finds a job soon.

Anna

I was happy picking up the things from the sale all the big items sold as well as the shoes and half the movies I took. So I should be looking at getting a check for at least $45 more depending on what clothes sold.

Thanks to all, I was beginning to get a regular headache but too my arthitis pills and it helped both hip and headache so nipped that one in the bud.
Still have not spent any $ today. I have not had the light on in my room for last 2 days till had no choice but turn it on, and no TV till 8 at nite and will continue that. So hopefully will help my power bill. Adam has been gone since Tuesday so nothing electronic on in his room except ceiling fan because Panda is in there got to make sure she is cool.

Roberta - do make sure dh documents everything, especially with doctors. We went thru that when dh became disabled. It sure made the process go smoother. Hope everything is ok with him.

Lisa - so sorry for the financial situation. I agree, check with some of the larger churches. Here, you don't have to belong to get help. Are there any city or organizations food banks? Like Gleaners or Salvation Army? You will be ok - you always are!!! HUGS

Norma - Tell us how it went!!!

You sure have all been busy. Yesterday, I stayed home and worked around here. All meals from home.
Frugal today - I spent money!!!! I went to Aldi, The Nut House, and WM with a total of $56 spent for all 3! Needed just basics, milk, eggs, bread, cottage cheese, potatoes, etc.
Topped off gas tank for $22.50. Stopped by a church sale and bought 6 story books for niece and nephew for Christmas. Got all 6 for $1.50. I really splurged. We haven't ate out in forever. I stopped at Long John's and got us 4 Baja fish tacos. .99 ea. Boy were they tangy and yummy. Had leftover soup for dinner.
I made it a total of 21 no spend days out of 27 for July. I'm going to try to really stay out of grocery store as much as possible. That is where I tend to spend the most. Still have plenty here, plus lot's of garden veggies.
I have 12 tomatoes in a bowl right now. They are really starting to turn. Still have zucch. & yellow squash comming out my bu**. lol Green beans are starting to come on. Lot's of peppers. WOOHOO!! I love my garden.

I hope you all have a great rest of the weekend.

Good evening all!!

I am home from my date.

We only went to the Egg Harbor City Volunteer Fireman's Spaghetti Dinner. We found out that we know a lot of people in common. He works delivering food for a guy who owns two small restaurants, 1 in town, and one in the next town over. So, he knows people in my town from delivering, and I know them from living here. We were sat at a table with the carpenter and his family who did my wall. And right in front of us was the man and woman who used to take me to chuch when I was a teen. Bob knows their grandson because he is a volunteer fireman. It was a good first date. Nothing exciting.

But there is a glitch - tomorrow, a woman who Bob says wants to continue what he thought was a concluded relationship is supposed to go to his house and they are going to see if they can work things out. He says he doesn't think it is going anywhere, but I told him to let him know. Better to know what's up now, than later. And I am grateful for the honesty.

So, he got a kiss on the cheek and I was walked to the door (it was still daylight too!!).

You all have a nice night!! Norma

Norma, it sounds like a nice day! And I am glad that he was honest, too. That says a lot for his character.
Anna, I think they should be okay. We usually do replant stuff to have more or if it doesn't do that well. We'll have to see, though, with the unusual weather. Normally though, it usually frosts in late Oct.-mid Nov.
Went to the yarn store and used my gift card. Gorgeous everything, could have stayed there forever. Maybe they'd let me move in for a while. I ended up choosing some for a shawl-yarn made from 100% sugar cane. I've never heard of it, but it's really soft. The other yarns are cotton blends. I haven't decided what to do with them yet. Probably something for Christmas gifts. Need to spend some time now looking around for some inspiration. That is probably how I will be spending the rest of the evening. Hope all of you have a lovely Sunday tomorrow!
Jamie.
