Yes, I agree Lisa, "Can't think about it today I'll think about it tomorrow".
I watched Gone with the Wind the other night always a fav and last night I watched The English Patient again. Love Ralph Fiennes.

Hello Ladies --

Jamie, I like your picture too!

Everyone is doing a great job on being frugal -- I'm still not caught up on reading posts.

My new job is going good, working for a Physical Therapy practice. It's nice to work for good people. My other job wasn't a good place at all and I had to hurry up and get out of that situation...

Frugal for me: I've been making my own laundry soap. Found a recipe to try and help my sister's sensitive skin and it works and is just pennies a load. I really like that. I can afford to make some for me and her...

I continue to make all meals at home, from scratch and I've been making a lot for the freezer so when DH comes home I won't have to do so much cooking. He looking forward to some good food he says, and his intestinal tract is too...

Well, I'm taking DS1 shopping for some school clothes, using coupons of course. BTW... Old Navy is giving a 30% off discount this weekend for military families -- just show your military ID.

Have a good day all --Talk more later!

I know my plan of action to spend less money on food, etc. is to make a pot of rice and a dried bean dish a week. I have them already in the cupboard from the past months of AFM boxes so I need to make a point of using them.

I know I tend to worry about things that I can't really do a darn thing about so I have to make a point to turn it over to God and leave it with him.

DH has been having some problems with his legs going numb on the drive home this week which I told him to start documenting so if he needs to go on disability in the future he has the infomation. The doctor talked about it the last visit before this temp job came up so that might be in our near future. So all extra money is getting banked to cover bills later.

Roberta

Roberta, that is so scary for your dh! I hope it gets resolved. I like your idea about rice and beans one night a week, going to do that!

Pam, I love your pic! Hope you find some great deals at Old Navy. What a wonderful thing for them to do!

Laurie, I have the Gone with the Wind movie on VHS. At some point I want it for DVD but about once a year I watch it. I saw it was on tv the other night too! Had stuff going on so didn't watch it. Gotta love Scarlett!

I've managed to fold 2 loads of laundry and put the dried dishes away. I'm going to run out now and clean out the van then come back and finish in here.

TTFN my friends!
Lisa

Good morning dear friends, hope you all slept well last nite. I have slept pretty good last 3 nites with YEA!!! no pill to help me. I hope it continues.
I have to tighten our belts here too right now. Have not spent any $$ now for 3 days, good reason have not left house. No ordering in so none spent there. Helps having both Adam and Steven gone lol.
Clothes all washed and hung out on line all this week not every day but when it was. Likewise dishes by hand.
Happy frugaling to all

Good afternoon all!!

I have been up and out since pretty early today. The city-wide yard sale is going on. I needed to go to the post office, the bank, the pharmacy, and then I could go look. I only got a what-not, and already am wondering "why". It is one of the Galileo thermometers. The woman who donated it to the sale at my supervisor's church only wanted $.75 for it, so I gave $2 (the rest for a donation). The ball with the 72* on it has nothing in it, and therefore it doesn't work right. But since my house is rarely ever at 72*, I don't see where it matters too much.

I am trying o clean a little before the new guy comes to pick me up this afternon.

I had to go to the pharmacy to pick up vitamin D. My dr's office left a message for me to get it, something must be low!! Rite Aid had Nature's Bounty on sale this week (B1G1), so they were 1/2 price.

Anna, my mother was always there, but just so distant, she might as well not have been there. And even though she passed away almost 18 years ago, I really don't miss her. Now my sister is a different story - I believe she feels our mother's loss daily, and deeply.

I was able to harvest 18 tomatoes before the storms started last night. I got home from work to very dark skies. Grabbed a big bowl and out to the vines I went. It was just starting to rain as I was finishing.

Well ladies, I better go get something done around here. Wouldn't want him to think I am a total slob, even though I feel like it today. It is very close out there today.

Take care all!! Norma

Norma, again, I hope you have a great time out with the new guy! And way to go on getting the tomatoes out before the storms hit!

Patti, I'm so happy for you that you got some good resting hours in, makes a difference doesn't it?

I spent $2 to vacuum the van out really good. Went to my friend's house to get her cat food. She had to have her sweet baby put to sleep 2 weeks ago and she wanted it all out of the house. Free cat food but that's not the way I would want to get it, I miss Ann E. Mall too.

Just got the girls up now time to light a fire under their butts!

Hugs friends,
Lisa

Norma, you are not even remotely a slob. lol Have fun this afternoon!
Pam, your new job sounds interesting-glad you ditched the other one. Wishing you lots of good deals at Old Navy! When does school start for your kids?
Lisa, I think that is wise!
Roberta, I hope it turns out to be nothing major with your dh.
Patti, that's wonderful that you were able to get some good sleep without the medication.
Today we are replanting seeds and staking tomatoes. I am thinking about making some scones but I'm not sure if I want to heat up the house. Need to return library books when I'm out today. Right now, we are still in our jammies watching some movie on Rome. It is not that good, actually, which is why I am on the computer.
Well, better get moving. Take care my friends, and have a nice weekend!
Jamie.

Hi all , I’ve been running around a lot so not on line much. Missibob prayers for a quick recovery
Lisa sorry about the bad news, remember being that tight and will pray it works out for you. Check with the bigger churches for the food banks. You usually don’t have to be member to get help
Norma have fun with your new friend.
Lori glad your feeling well enough to venture out, be careful
Katy hope it comes uo soon and you feel better
DDs recovering, she is a demanding patient, but she is a high a maintenance person when well so it just gets worse when ill. So I am about the only one who has patience for her. I love her but she is what she is.
I’ve been very unfrugal lately and then got hit with unexpected bills so we are also tightening our belt. I’m planning to use up a lot of my stock up items and start restocking in the fall. I know beans are cheap but my family will only eat so many of them. So time to come up with some cheap meals.
