Jean,
Glad to see you posting.
Lisa,So sorry about the finicial mess your dh dragged you into.I am so glad you are using the food pantries and that is very smart to be selling the piano,.
Frugal for me.?Went to Sams and spent 52.00 there and I forgot dhs ceral. Then went to wm and only spent 20.00 there.I had to pick up some more bowls and spoons. So all in all it was a good day.Took my youngest to her lesson and she got her prize. We have been home since and I got some books from the libary in town.Saw the electric bill and it was pretty high as dh always has the a/c when it doesn't need to be.

Laurie, unfortunately no, they didn't even take my child support into consideration when I applied. I don't see how making what I make that I don't qualify but they say I make $300 over the guideline!!!

Jean, are your men home yet?

Kathy, hope the hamburgers were melt in your mouth!

Thank you friends for your support. We'll be ok, I'm making myself relax and just roll with it. If I get stressed the kids get stressed not to mention my back locks up and I can't go to the chiro w/ no money, lol!

Frugal tonight was the leftovers. I went outside and mowed the yards, inside the dog's fenced in area, cleaned that mess up, the blankets they'd ripped and I was too lazy to pick up. I had a spurt of energy and wanted to get in there and just get it looking nice again. And, I love this, I found 2 corn stalks growing as well as 2 hills of cucumbers, in the dog's area!!! The cucumbers I can see, we threw the rotten ones in there last late summer but the corn...must have been birds dropping kernels or something! I was cracking up! I mowed around the 4 plants. Gonna see what happens! So, I have a mini garden afterall!

I'm off to go relax, it's just Alyssa and I tonight and I'm going to put my feet up and chill.

Hugs friends,
Lisa

I can really see using rain water in the garden is paying off my water bill for June 16 to July 16 was only 2 units. Most of the year we average 3 units but in the summer it can be 5 with watering and the kids using the sprinkler.

Worked set up today for the kids sale tomorrow. Will have to really decide if it is worth the gas expense to continue next year. Hopefully will sell a lot of the things I took.

Used our KFC free 2 piece chicken meal coupons tonight. Chicken pieces were kind of small but the sides were huge. Have enough leftovers for one and brought the 4 biscuits home too.

We have mice again, can't figure out where they are getting in at. Thought when we didn't have them last year we were good to go.

Lisa, when school starts back up make sure you fill in the paperwork for free/reduced breakfast and lunches for the girls.

Roberta, the kids get free lunch already as they are on the insurance from the State of IL. That's what I don't understand about not getting food assistance, we qualify for free healthcare but not for food assistance. It's a mystery!

Lisa, are you getting the Lifeline land line phone discount? You need to be on state insurance, or free lunch program, WIC or food stamps and its about 20% off the phone each month. You might want to call them again and double check that they counted everyone in the house when figuring up how much you can earn.

You could have the kids go through their things that they don't want anymore to have a garage sale one weekend this month.

Thanks everyone on the kind words for the explanation, that is something we worked on a group to combine but not something I have on my website due to "making claims" LOL! But if asked I provide it to customers. Gotta rework again on what Patchouli essential oil is as I've used it for such a long time I just take it for granted that everyone knows what it is, had a customer ask me that yesterday.

Lisa

Congrats on the gift from God and Nature in your back yard with the garden... it makes you feel humble when you see something like that, that you had absolutely nothing to do with and God provided, doesn't it? I hope everything will work out for you and the girls.

Oh and LoriMae

The scents I carry in stock are: Bay Rum, Flowering Dogwood, Confederate Jasmine and Fragrance Free. I occassionally dabble in other scents such as the Patchouli and Lavender essential oils, Cranberry Plum (smells wonderful but turned dark brown so won't be repeating that one sigh). After the first of the year, I want to play with a new scent a Vanilla that is supposed to be non discoloring which would make it white instead of the brown you usually get with anything that has vanilla in it.

Oh and Ellen and Patti

I have not attempted liquid soaps from scratch, one of my friends did but not sure if she is still doing it or not as she seems to have disappeared from the soaping groups.. she's the one who has the farm. Since she became a Grandma last year, she doesn't seem to be very interested in the soaping anymore.
