Have had to be a "couch potato" since I got home from Imaging Center yesterday. Not suppose to use right hand/arm for anything unless I absolutely have to. HMMM! some things I simply can not do with my left but am being very careful. No pushing/pulling/lifting. But I did ask if okay to be on here since I obviously use my right arm/hand. She said yes it was okay. I take the bandage off "if I can" at noon but leave the other little strip things on there. If I have probs getting bandage off have to put valaline on it. Can not figure out how that will help but guess they know what they are talking about.
They told me not to get rid of the little round pillow looking freezer packs (3) as can use for other reasons down the road if need be. So guess that will be frugal since I did not even have to buy them in first place.
Judy is out hanging clothes that were washed in cold as usual. Will have breakfast from fridge (can biscuits) and country gravy which is up in cabinet. I try to stock up on that gravy we really like it and I buy it at the Bread store where every thing is discounted.
All of you are doing so well being frugal. Good morning and God bless

Yesterday my dd1 called and wanted me to ride up north a couple hours with her to pick up the grandkids from their aunts house so I went along. We stopped at the Carter's kids store in the outlet mall and I got 2 outfits for dgd that will be turning 1 in Sept. paid $13 total. Already bought her a toy a few weeks ago as part of her present. The other dgd also has a Sept. BD but later in the month, she will be 3, loves horses lately. Then my dd treated me to dinner before we came home so it was a frugal trip for me.

Got my electric bill yesterday, was up over last month but still not too bad with all the triple digit temps we've had. Supposed to get a break this week and only be 95, LOL.

Have to go into town tonight and get a few things dh needs for his trip, he leaves Thursday afternoon. I will get the few things I need from the grocery store so I won't be there this weekend at the beginning of the month which will be like a zoo.

Anna, I think you can dehydrate most fruits. I have a dehydrator that my mil gave me but I never used it. Dd1 wanted to make fruit roll ups for the kids so I loaned it to her a few years ago. I don't think she ever did it and I think it is probably in her garage. I do love the cinnamon dried apple chips in the store, I should "borrow" the dehydrator back and try making some. A lot healthier than some of the junk I eat.

Chris, thanks for the reminder on bread crumbs, I was thinking to buy them but you reminded me to not let bread go moldy but instead catch it when it is stale and toss it in the food processor

Hi Mish, I miss being here more too – try to post quickly over lunch while I eat a sandwich at my desk – yesterday I noticed that mayo likes the dfghjkl keys….

I’ve been looking at fall recipes also and last night made onions and apples to go with some chicken and apple sausages I’d bought for $1.50 a while ago, made a nice meal over rice and got me thinking about warm fall recipes and crockpotting once the semester starts, and yeah Anna reminded me, soups too

I remember for drying fruit that I added some citric acid as a wash but with the cinnamon you won’t need to worry about it being brown…the apples always turned out great too

Happy Birthday to Barb. I hope wherever you are on vacation that you have a great special day.

Anna, tell David Happy Birthday from all your friends here on FC.

Frugal today is the same, staying home and cooking from home. Tomorrow will be very unfrugal because we are planning on going and seeing our ods. It will be worth every penny spent. I look forward to it.

Jacki, I hope your dh has a good time on his fishing trip. My dh and ds didn't have much luck fishing on their trip. The water was way down in some of the places they went to also. I hope you make it okay through the nights. Like you, I did enjoy not having to cook unless I wanted to while they were gone.

Patti, I hope you get all better soon. Take care of yourself. You are still in my prayers.

Sue, I hope your allergies get better. I know we have quiet a bit of problems here in our family with them.

I got one more cucumber out of the garden and three tiny tomatoes that were starting to ripen yesterday. I need to go check today because it was too muddy to do much yesterday. I have been eating so many cucumbers as snacks or in salads. I will really miss them when they are gone.

Today is my 46th birthday and I just wanted to say thank you to all of you who have prayed for me and stood with me with my sickness these past few months. I have another procedure coming up and I am scared but I am just going to pray that the ureter tube is healed and that the stint can come out and that I can be okay from being put to sleep and wake up okay. I want to thank Almighty God for blessing me to have another birthday because I honestly didn't know if I would just a few short months ago. Every day we are alive and able to go we are rich beyond measure. Maybe not in money terms but in terms of all that really matters. I am thankful for all of you and you all have made a big impact on my life. My dh bought me a pair of gold earrings with tiny diamonds for my birthday and our anniversary which is Thursday. They are very nice but I told him he shouldn't have spent that much money and he said with what you have been through you deserve ten times that amount. My yds bought me a cute simpsons card and a cd that I just love. Hope everyone has a great evening.

Jean .

Yesterday I packed my lunch. Everyone else ate all meals at home. Dh went and bought a new belt for the riding mower. That cost $35 which he used left over vacation money that we didn't spend.

We are working on getting the rest of dd #1's college money together. DD #1 opened up a bank account yesterday with all her money from graduation. This money will be used for books and supplies.

Today I packed my lunch with leftovers from last night dinner. I will make dinner at home. We do have the a/c on this week. It is in the 90's and humid. My allergies are bothering me also this week.

Have a nice frugal day everyone.

Welcome back!

Jeandeannette & Barbzy

Happy Birthday .

LoriMae

Dh's birthday is actually tommorow, he'll be 51 yo.

I also made Madyson a awesome birthday card today, found a really cool site that you can copy their prints (they don't have a block on them) so I made her a 1920's photo of two little girls reading a book in a chair, it's from a magazine cover.

I just got back from Krogers had to buy a can of coffee and picked up 10 free cans of Mighty Dog, have quite a few more free ones to use before Sept. Yay!

RobertaD

I have laundry outside too.. fingers crossed they get dry before the rain hits. It's very hot and humid here today. Dinner tonight will be leftover veggie soup with grilled cheese sandwiches to which I will add a slice of tomatoe as they cook, YUM!! I wonder if I made grilled cheese sandwiches and froze like that if the tomato would still be good?

Anna

Lauri, how are you? Prayers for a speedy and complete recovery for you. God's way of saying slow it down maybe? He has a way of doing that to us when we're not paying attention.

Jean, Happy Birthday to you. I love what your dh said when you told him he shouldn't have spent so much. He obviously thinks you are worth it, he's a good man. Prayers out to you for your procedure and that all is healed as well as you heal quickly from the surgery! Enjoy your trip to see your ds.

Charlotte, I read what you posted about your dd starting college this year, my heart did a little flip. This is my oldest dd's last year of high school. This time next year I'll be doing the same. Weren't they just little and in baby cribs? When did they grow up?

It's started raining here. I had a little time left on my lunch break so I put in $10 worth of gas, don't like to get down to almost nothing, not since we had that storm in May and I was about on E before I made it home. I stopped at the kids' school, younger two, to finally get their report cards and verify registration. After that went home, made a sandwich, hugged my girls then back to work. Rachel will meet me at 5 pm here at work and I have to go with her for her physical for school/marching band and dance team. After that I need to stop in at Aldi briefly, get just a few things then home to cook dinner. I'm going to be bad and skip church tonight, I need to just relax a bit, if I don't I'll get sick and I sure don't want another bout of bronchitis!

Frugal, laundry, washed in cold water, meals from what we have at home and combining errands, that's about all I got!

Hugs to you all!
Lisa

I love dehydrated peaches and pears. We made a lot last summer. I have been using last years peaches, frozen, in fruit smoothies for breakfast and snacks. These peaches I froze whole. I pop a peach into the microwave for about 20 seconds, slice and toss in the blender. If you defrost for 30 to 40 seconds it is like eating a fresh peach.
I am going through school supplies to donate. No reason storing the ones we don't use. The supplies that aren't new, will be donated to the church for thier use.
I have three appts tomorrow! I opened a business checking account today. I have $90 in it. I am very proud of myself. I have watched some people here who have thier own business nickle and dime the money away. I don't want to do that.
Happy birthday David.
Happy birthday Jean.
It poured today. Supposed to be in the low 70s today and tomorrow. Should have known, since we vacuumed the pool. Everytime we vacuum the pool, it rains, a lot. lol
I have been eating out on days that I work. We don't have a break room. I do use my tip money for lunch so I think it evens it out.
